Introducing Roseville Pottery (A Schiffer Book for Collectors)

I am amazed at all the information available in this beautifully designed book. It answered many of my questions and gave me ideas about some pieces in my collection. Great purchase for the novice collector.

I wanted a guide that showed all the product lines & how to tell if something is “ the real deal”! I’m very happy with this excellent guide!

Excellent and thorough discussion of Roseville art pottery. Devotes several pages to each line. Highly recommended for devotees of that brand. Prices seem to have gone down quite a bit since this was published but any pricing data is inevitably out of date as soon as it's written. Current pricing data is available from online auction sites.

The reviews that say "no pictures", "pedestrian price guide", etc., are for a different book entirely - they are for Bassetts Roseville Price Guide, NOT for this book which is Bassett's Introducing Roseville Pottery. This book is fantastic! It is lavishly illustrated with many examples from every single Roseville line. As a beginner in the Roseville world, this was the best introduction I could hope for, giving me the chance to become familiar with all Roseville products in one place. Prices are only given for illustrated items, which is enough to give you a good idea of the relative values of the different lines, but of course all prices must be taken with a grain of salt since the marketplace is so variable. EBay prices, for instance, probably average out to maybe a half or a third of what he indicates. But if what you want is what the book is called - an introduction to Roseville - then look no farther.

As a novice Roseville collector this book exceeds my expectations. I went from zero to 100% in a short few days!Highly recommend!
