One of the few intervalometers easily usable for DIY projects!
I needed an electronic timer for a special DIY LED control project. The ones called "intervalometers" for cameras are small, very adjustable, battery-operated, have a built in LCD and button user interface, and relatively low cost. The gotcha - most of them have camera-specific, proprietary plugs with no pinout description. I did some research and virtually only the Canon plug is a standard (2.5mm stereo plug). Its pinouts are published and available online. This one works great.Limitations:1) The unique 0.1 sec feature does not apply to parameter values lower than 1 sec.2) There is some resistance (~15 ohms) in the "contacts" closure. Since I needed to control high current anyway, I added a MOSFET (IRF520) in a voltage follower circuit. That works great.Overall, using this device simplified the whole project, providing a powerful, flexible, and intuitive user interface which was easy to integrate into a project.

Works for my timelapse needs
I have an Olympus Pen E-PL3. I had another intervalometer which broke and I replaced it with this one. Nice, compact unit. My previous intervalometer, and another I have for a Canon, have a minimum 1 second cycle. This one can do 0.1 seconds. Screen is nice. Easy to set up. It just works. Seems well built. Has a number of nice features, great value.

does what it says it does.. dont really know if these things are brand specific, as i own a lumix g7 camera,,, will try on my friends nikon 3100 and see if it works there as well.. had a cheaper shutter release bought from amazon a few months ago,, no timers or anything,, this one is perfect and the settings are easy to do..

Doesn't work with Pentax
I bought the timer shutter for Canon that said compatibility with pentax K3. I tried and doesn't work I connected to the camera and is not working, I am going to return it. The instructions are not very useful
