**Q: What exactly do these shells do? No real description above, in the ad!**
A: They protect sore nipples by keeping clothing off of them, and the holes in the shell allow for airflow so the nipples can heal. The inner sponges are there to absorb milk to prevent leaking, and should not be given to baby. Hope that helps.

**Q: Are these more comfortable then the hard shells or about the same?**
A: The Softshells have a soft silicone back that touches mom's skin in order to provide more comfort. I recommend them over the Therashells for that reason.

**Q: Once the cup is full, does the milk overflow from the holes at the top?**
A: It will hold about an ounce before it overflows if you are sitting still. If you are moving around it can probably hold about a half ounce with out slopping around and spilling out the holes.

**Q: Are you able to salvage the milk that flows through the cup and use it?**
A: No.  It is not advisable as the milk will not have been kept refrigerated and may be exposed to bacteria.  These are designed for air flow rather than to catch milk.
