Well made and works as expected

*by K***D on Reviewed in the United States on January 25, 2011*

It's a pretty simple device and not entirely necessary but since I'm paranoid about damaging the back lens of my 50mm lens while reversing it with the BR-2a to do macro photography, I think it's worth using. This adaptor is a solid hunk of metal and seems to be very cleanly machined. Fits on the F-mount of my lens and lets me screw the UV filter on to keep me from directly bumping the rear element when I'm getting "up close and personal" with my subjects. The other reviewer mentioned having a problem with a third party filter threading onto this adaptor. Like they said not all threads are created equal but they're supposed to be. I think it has to do with the quality of the threads on the filter. I had no problem screwing a decades old Kalimar UV filter on this adaptor but have had problems with filter threads in other applications unrelated to the BR-3 adaptor. I have a set of cheap "close-up" filters that I was using for Macro before getting the BR-2a and although they came together as a set, I have a hard time getting them to screw together or to my lens. So like the other reviewer said, your mileage may vary but if you have a problem getting a filter on this adaptor I would tend to blame the filter and not this adaptor.

Feels cheap, release lever is annoying. Get the Photodiox instead

*by S***B on Reviewed in the United States on December 1, 2014*

This feels cheap, and the design of the lens release lever is horrible. It sticks out VERY prominently, and bends VERY easily. It almost requires three hands to hold the lens/camera, this adapter ring, and actuate the release lever.Get the Photodiox adapter ring instead. It feels like much better quality, and the release lever of the Photodiox is trivial to operate while also holding the camera, AND the lever is very low profile. The aperture open/lock feature is great. The Nikon adapter ring is 3-4 mm shorter than the Photodiox, not that that matters (this is on the wrong end of the lens for it to matter optically.Skip this. Get the Photodiox. Trust me, you don't have to thank me.

Works as it should. Not much to this. Not much to say about this product. Its a simple metal ring that does what it is suppose to Thanks Nikon
