in-USB-1 Infinity USB Foot Pedal for Computer Transcription

UPDATE JUNE 26, 2022:Upon receiving my earlier review (re: defective foot pedal) a representative from Executive Communications System called me to apologize for what I received. Mr. Wilkes assured me upon receiving my mailing address, he would ensure I received a new foot pedal. He did and I did! THE FOOT PEDAL WORKS GREAT!!! I am so grateful to Mr. Wilkes and one of his techs named Josh who, by the way, had the patience of Job, as he walked me through testing the equipment to make sure it worked properly. I will always order my electronic products from them. In my field of court reporting we can't have defective equipment while performing our jobs. Thank you!I disliked the fact there were these broken pieces in the foot pedal that you could actually hear when taking it out of the box. The seller obviously had to know they were shipping a defective product. FIRST BAD BUY ON AMAZON. VERY DISAPPOINTED. NOT TO MENTION THE $70 I SPENT ON A DUD AS THE COMPUTER COULD NOT RECOGNIZE THE USB CONNECTION. SO IN EFFECT I PAID FOR A LARGE PAPERWEIGHT.

I bought this foot pedal to replace one I had had for maybe a year and stopped working properly. I do transcription as part of my job and need one that is going to work well. I bought this Infinity because that is the one I had before the one I just replaced, and I had it for approximately 5-6 years before it stopped working. I had decided to go for one a bit cheaper and now after a year, I'm back to buy another one, so I should have stuck with the Infinity in the first place. It's extremely sturdy and works great. I took off one star only because for some reason, I have to occasionally reinstall it with the software I use, just like the last Infinity pedal I had, and which was one of the reasons I chose a different model for my last one. It is a minor annoyance I'm willing to put up with, it doesn't happen that often, but happens on multiple devices and never happened with other pedals. But other than that, it's a great unit.UPDATE AS OF 10/2018 - I took off a star because I'm not sure who the problem lies with, the Infinity pedal or ExpressScribe software, but from the research I've done online, this is a pretty common problem and I have not seen much response from the hardware or software people except to reinstall your software and it "should work." For me, everything is fine and then suddenly I press on the pedal and it's dead -- nothing. Now, I can fix this by unplugging it from the USB port and plugging it back in. If this was once a week or maybe even once a day it would be a lot more tolerable, but some days it's constant. This obviously slows down my work considerably and is a major pain in the butt! I would advise that if you are planning on using ExpressScribe software, you might want to consider a different pedal. I really love this pedal when everything is working the way it should, but I'm not interested in changing software, so I may be looking for a different one.

i liked that it arrived very fast and was exactly the one I NEEDED!

This is my go to foot pedal for my legal transcription work. I have two of these and have one specifically as a backup. Have yet to need the backup (after 7 + months), but do not want to be stuck if I am in need.

I received an empty box with no product inside. I would still like the product, but the box needs to be secure. I’ve ordered two others and I’m happy with it.

Works well, but the main pedal in the middle is narrow and it's easy to accidentally hit the forward or back pedals on the sides. If you have big feet and shoes you may want something wider.

I chose this rating because both the product and delivery were very good. The pedal was a bit dirty on top with a few scratches beneath it. I was thrilled to find out that this product could be sent to South Africa as this was often not the case with other companies selling this item.I liked the service, speed of delivery, ability to send to South Africa, and the quality of the pedal itself. I disliked the condition, which I mentioned above. Although the dirt and scratches were very minor and hardly worth mentioning.I would recommend this to anyone else who transcribes for a career.

Make sure you get the one that works with your program. Had to return the first one I bought as did not work with the program I had. Other than that works great.
