I bought this game to play with my brother. I only played 2K14 previously and not for very long so I don't really want to compare it. I did not play Live 14.From the standpoint of someone who isn't well versed in basketball strategy, the gameplay is still enjoyable. Obviously if you know more about the game, there will be more of the gameplay to utilize but for me it is still fun and I hope to add more tools to my arsenal eventually. There are a lot of moves to learn and remember to be the most effective player possible but you can get by without learning them all. The tutorial at the beginning is very minimal and won't show you everything. It's particularly lacking in teaching defense and playing in the post. I was able to pick a good deal of it up through trial and error though and I didn't feel useless while doing so.I haven't yet played online yet. I prefer creating a player so I'm enjoying the Jordan Rising Star mode at the moment. I tried the Dynasty mode (be a GM) and had some fun with it but since basketball relies so heavily on individual star players, it's not as fun as similar modes in other sports games. It's pretty hard to maintain a team too when even middle of the road players are asking for superstar dollars. The AI is a mixed bag. Sometimes the players look like a cohesive unit and are making plays while other times the ball carrier will simply dribble in place until they are forced to take a shot as the clock runs out. You can always call for a pass though so I don't find it takes too much away from the gameplay.Overall, a solid game I am still getting into and worth buying. I LOVE this game. Although it does have its flaws, It is very underrated. I'm not a huge fan of 2k. Also this is much cheaper. I spend most of my time on Ultimate Team. It is challenging yet easy enough to where you do not need to purchase additional content.
