I have a helmet that I can mount my NOD's to, but this mount is great for R&S when you don't want to carry a heavy load. It's very comfortable. I did tape the extra strands that didn't need to be adjusted, and left two strands free to be adjusted, that way it's easy to put on and take off, without having extra cords flapping around. These mounts are generally all made in the same way, but the one I received had fabric on the inside of the chin cup that made it even more comfortable. After adjusted properly and when it feels comfortable, I completely forget that I'm even wearing a mount and my night vision is just part of me, especially if wearing a watch cap or a balaclava.

this came with no info on how to use and I cannot find anyway to mount my optics to this without modifying the mount or optic.

it well made doesn't seem cheap at all if u want hands free in a neat clean no more than needed option this it what you need. way better than any light system ever used on your river boat! because hell you can't see the stumps anyway lol I removed excess strap an added snaps to hold ends in place. only thing I would change is I wish you could flip up over head so you could go back an forth like the helmet setup offers but with out it's bulkey less secure/stable down side
