And they have built in input pullups although i wish they were input pulldowns its better than nothing. If you plan on using these with esp32 you'll need to find the 2.0.0 or 2.1.0 version of the adafruit library. Review: It works. I am able to expand my I/O ports! - It works great. I am able to use this MCP to expand my I/O pins with ease. I2C is a great interface to work with along with the MCP23017. I suggest looking at the Adafruit MCP23017 library for code examples. What's a good way to test? Would it fit an ic socket and then in breadboard?** A: It's a standard DIP package so it will fit along the middle track of a breadboard. You may need to bend the pins slightly to get them to fit.
