The holster was EXACTLY as described. Perfect fit for the gun listed. Not an easy holster to find but this one exceeds expectations. Very good quality at a very reasonable price.

No question of quality of materials and workmanship.  It's gorgeous.  The paddle is lined with a soft rubber material that provides excellent grip and stability. The paddle is firm and holds the firearm close and  easily be canted forward or rear as desired.  The lack of a fifth star is because of rather poor retention.  By design, this holster Is not intended to provide "combat" retention but it holds the firearm a little bit loose and has no tension adjustment screw.  Still, I doubt under reasonable conditions my pistol would actually fall out of this holster. So, if you want an open-top paddle holster for your Browning 1911 .389 (or 22),  I think you'll be quite happy.UPDATE 09-July-2017:  After reading Badger Smith's review stating that this holster is for a full-size 1911, I slipped mine into it.  He's right. Although the barrel protruded about a half-inch, it's a perfect fit.  Still, I'm happy with this holster for my browning 1911 380 as I can't find another leather paddle holster for it.  I'm going to try to dampen the inside with a water spray bottle let it dry and shrink it a little.  I'm not not downgrading the stars since it is a beautiful holster just wis it was a slightly firmer fit. Thanks, Badger Smith!
