The black rubber seal underneath is substantial and works perfectly. **Q: does this fit a pre 2008 franke sink** A: Our sink is 2007 and it fitted fine- I wouldn’t bother though as the water drained straight out!! Returned mine for a refund! **Q: Can u actually fit these yourself and how** A: Normally, this product needs to be assembled together which should be straight forward. But, this particular product is rubbish and the parts don't actually fit together!! **Q: What is the diameter of the rubber seal? My plug hole is approx 43mm** A: Hi there, the diameter of the rubber is approx. 54mm but it sits higher that the actual plug hole which measures approx. 42-43mm. I'd suggest this product would fit your sink.
