But I still love this pack! ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ water doesn't freeze above 10,000 feet altitude *by M***E on December 30, 2024* Water doesn't freeze over 10,000 feet skiing in Steamboat Springs CO ### ⭐⭐ Water Froze -Feedback & Issue with SnoBlast™ 22 Hydration Pack *by F***8 on February 19, 2025* I recently took my SnoBlast™ 22 Hydration Pack on a snowboarding trip to Colorado, and while I really liked how much storage it provided and how well it carried my gear, I was disappointed that the water froze inside the pack. One of the main reasons I chose this model was its advertised insulation to prevent freezing, so it was frustrating when it didn’t perform as expected. I followed all recommended guidelines, but the issue still occurred. On the second day, I ended up wrapping the water bladder with a hand towel from the hotel, which successfully stopped the water from freezing. However, this added unnecessary weight to the pack and felt like an improvised fix. If I had known this would be necessary, I could have just purchased a cheaper hydration pack and wrapped the bladder myself instead of investing in an insulated one. I also ran into some design challenges while using the pack on the mountain: To access the main compartment via the long zipper, I had to first unzip two top zippers, which was difficult while wearing gloves. I often had to remove them just to get into the pack, which was inconvenient in the cold. When taking a sip of water, the insulated tube compartment would unzip slightly, and it was challenging to rezip it with gloves on. This made it harder to keep the tube protected from the elements. When I would take the pack off on one side, the left strap would often get twisted, making it difficult to get back on—especially with all my winter gear on. This became frustrating when I needed to quickly put the pack back on while out on the slopes.
