Review: Lovely pot—but beware the porridge eruption! - This is a well-made, attractive microwaveable pot with a handy vented lid. It feels sturdy, cleans up well, and I imagine it will be perfect for soups, stews, and reheating leftovers. However, I must issue a warning to fellow porridge enthusiasts: this pot and porridge do not get along. I used it to make my usual morning oats, and after a couple of minutes in the microwave, there was what can only be described as a porridge explosion. The vent became a launchpad, ejecting a blob of scalding porridge just as I opened the door—straight onto my hand. The microwave interior looked like a dalmatian in oat-based camouflage. It took two bowls of soapy water and four microfibre cloths to restore order. To be clear: this isn’t a fault with the pot itself, but porridge is a volatile beast in the microwave, and this design doesn’t seem to tame it. I’ll continue using the pot for other things, but porridge will now be confined to hob-only rituals. Hope this helps someone avoid a breakfast ambush!
