Clear Acrylic Plexiglass Sheet, 1/4" Thick (6mm) Cast Glass, for Craft Projects, Signs, Painting, Windows Replacement (1 Piece 11"x14")

I decided to switch from glass table toppers to plexi. Best decision of my life. We move alot and glass is heavy, fragile, hard to safely transport and hard to handle. This ¼ inch plexi is sturdy...as rigid as glass with great colorless clarity and it is inexpensive as compared to glass. Cutting it to size is also very easy with a circular saw, a 140 Tooth blade (very fine) which I reverse in the saw to keep the plexi braced against the saw bottom plate (to keep it from splintering or breaking). I mark my cuts and clamp the plexi under a board to use as my saw fence (cutting guide). This ensures a straight, even cut.After cutting, before removing the protective coat, I sand all sides and round corners plus give the sides a rounded edge top and bottom.

Pretty thick 1/4 inch used these to replace broken glass window in my shop. Cut them to size fit perfectly. Very happy with this product.

They arrived in bubble wrap, were in perfect condition, and were as clear as a bell. they will be used as base plates for my trim router and should do well.

I hate to remove a star but am donig so only because of the poor marketing/description in places on this page. It's good acrylic, standard fare, accurately cut and very nicely packaged for protection in shipping. If you are comfortable cutting and working with plastics, it's way way cheaper to buy larger pieces (especially from local suppliers rather than on here, if you have something available), but I appreciate them offering the very convenient 5x7 size here. Happy to get it.Plastic film rather than paper - would much rather have paper for both marking layout and for cutting (and long term storage as well). While the dimensions are spot-on accurate, the product description states that there are polished edges. Edges are nicely smooth enough but just saw-cut with no attempt to knock down the ridges and certainly no polishing. That's fine, though, and expected. Maybe other sizes offered actually have the edge treatment. I don't know if keeping babies away from my acrylic sheet will really prevent scratches, but I'll certainly heed that warning. :)I haven't yet cut or drilled this but just looking at it, I suspect this is extruded acrylic, not cast. Slight differences and whether you choose extruded or cast or perhaps polycarbonate instead just depends on your project needs. Overall, good stuff. Mine will become trim router sub-bases.EDIT: yes, it's extruded acrylic. Still easy to work with. I have to say that the plastic mask stays adhered a lot better than some do (paper is still better unless you're laser cutting). Sharpie will be faint but will soak in and last through layout and cutting work and the mask stayed put through sanding, wet sanding, and even at the buffing wheel. We purchased a chrome 72" x 36" shelving unit for the kitchen, to replace one that was too narrow. The one that arrived was ok, but the space between the round shelf supports was too large & the microwave legs fell between the supports. Tried to use round supports but it didn't really help. This solution works! Plenty of room to fit the unit up there and to move it out easily if needed. I put another one under another part of the shelving & now have a place to store cookbooks, a collection of tea cups & cool tea pot - all are stable now. I got the idea several years ago when we wanted a 24" w x 36" t x 12" d cabinet to store bathroom supplies for our master bath. Used one white melamine cabinet on the floor (added legs) and used another for the wall above & they match the oversized sink vanity already there. We bought 2 - 24" x 6" white tiles and placed those on top of the base unit to cover the not so attractive top part of the lower cabinet. The plexiglass works much better for this application as its much more sturdy, but same concept.

with 4 "feet" under it, this makes for a great pet food elevation platform, and it looks nice in the house.classy, durable, safe.

I used this thick plexi for an odd picture frame that required more depth. The piece I ordered was cut accurately, and is crystal clear. I recommend!
