They are water resistant to a certain extent the laces are sturdy and you have two sets of lace legs ut the top one pull and they tighten right up. Undo the top two lugs and the open right up and they have a great heel strap to help pull them on i got the coyote brown instead of black its been my experience that black color boots always seem a little stiffer.
