This gets thinner compared to the regular mortar, it's more for fine repairs rather than laying down bricks **Q: Is ok to use for a washing pole spike?** A: I did in the past use it for a flag pole. Suffice to say that pole is going nowhere. This purchase is for some fence posts with a metal spike when I can get around to it. **Q: What cement/sand ratio is this** A: It says 20-25% cement to 80-75% sand. **Q: Can you brush this in missing morter on a patio as a dry mix, and let the moisture in the ground set it hard.** A: I did just that but used a cheap tigger spray to set the surface. It is far from the cheapest way of doing this but I only needed to fill two joints. ## Customer Reviews ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Absolutely brilliant for quick household repairs—just add water and go! *by on Reviewed in the United Kingdom 24 May 2026* I needed to fix a couple of loose bricks on my garden wall and fill a few gaps in the outdoor patio pointing, and this 5kg tub was the absolute perfect size. The beauty of this product is that it's completely pre-mixed; you don't have to worry about buying separate bags of sand and cement or getting the ratios right. You literally just scoop out what you need, mix it with a bit of water in a bucket, and it’s ready to apply. It has a great, workable consistency that grabs well to old masonry, dries to a traditional grey finish, and sets incredibly solid. Ideal for anyone who wants a professional result without the hassle of a massive mixing job. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ It does what it says on the tub *by on Reviewed in the United Kingdom 17 October 2026* Easy to mix and apply, provided you add the right amount of water. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Reliable Mixture *by on Reviewed in the United Kingdom 8 October 2026* Used this product on many jobs, from simple pointing , so setting small stones in a patio .Mix container throughly before adding water - I use small amounts so the compound doesn’t cure too quickly .Dried quickly ( but that will be affected by weather conditions ). Note : During hot weather periods I would advise using a spray bottle of water to prevent spray the area you are applying the mortar to .Add some generic washing liquid to your mix to aid smooth and easy application .Great value for money for quantity paid , offering a no-fuss mix . ## Frequently Bought Together - Bostik Cementone General Purpose Mortar, Pre-Mixed, Easy to Use, for Interior & Exterior Repairs & Maintenance, Colour: Grey, Size: 5kg - Faithfull FAISGTPT6 Soft-Grip Pointing Trowel 150mm (6in) - Faithfull FAISGTGAUG7 Soft-Grip Gauging Trowel 175mm (7in) --- ## Why Shop on Desertcart? - 🛒 **Trusted by 1.3+ Million Shoppers** — Serving international shoppers since 2016 - 🌍 **Shop Globally** — Access 737+ million products across 21 categories - 💰 **No Hidden Fees** — All customs, duties, and taxes included in the price - 🔄 **15-Day Free Returns** — Hassle-free returns (30 days for PRO members) - 🔒 **Secure Payments** — Trusted payment options with buyer protection - ⭐ **TrustPilot Rated 4.5/5** — Based on 8,000+ happy customer reviews **Shop now:** [https://www.desertcart.co.ke/products/59907991-bostik-cementone-general-purpose-mortar-5kg](https://www.desertcart.co.ke/products/59907991-bostik-cementone-general-purpose-mortar-5kg) --- *Product available on Desertcart Kenya* *Store origin: KE* *Last updated: 2026-10-25*
