These are not marketed for dogs, but our two standard sized labradoodles get matted. Regular dog groomer clippers just don't go through them, and cutting them out with a scissors leaves the coat irregular. A friend suggested sheep shears, and these work great. They are heavy and lack safety guides, so they are best for long straight sections of the body and legs. You will still need groomer tools to finish the job. They are noisier than groomer clippers. Let the dog smell them both shut off and running to get acquainted.

Arrived quickly, and ready to go. The blades were already in place, all you needed to do was plug it in.We quickly sheared 2 show lambs the first night, and then 2 more the next time. The only thing that you will need that it doesn't come with is oil for the blades. Compared to a profession shear for $600, this is a great bang for you buck to shear off a few show sheep.

I used it once on my sheep, and it seemed to work ok. Didn't go through the wool as well as I'd like. The second time I used it, it exploded. Steer clear.

Very good product.. the only thing I disliked is that they are heavy

My dog has thick wool like fur, this item zipped right through it.

I bought these to trim my doodles but they are to heavy and noisey for them . They vibrate a lot so the dogs are terrified . Didn't try these until it was to late to send back so wasted money.

These shears cut good, but the are so heavy and bulky

We have one pet sheep. She's a mess when it comes to trimming her down. This worked so fast and perfect. The sheep was perfectly fine through the whole process. Really really happy with this purchase.
