I was delighted, overjoyed to find one. I am a new widow and it seems that every since he passed I have more "man" things break than they ever did the whole 43 years we were married. It was very easy to set up, too. It works great. It may not get the advertised range because my old one worked further down the street than this one. It opens and closes my garage door, and that is what counts. It took a while to arrive because it came via the USPS, and the package was damaged. The product was okay. However, it is typical for the USPS. It happens more often than not. I would buy it again if needed. Review: Name Brand Is Always Best - Loved it, I recieved it in record time and took 2 secs to program it. i purchased the aftermarket ones and they were terrible and i returned them. This Chamberlain product worked perfectly although a bit more expensive than the aftermarket ones but its worth the money when you program it and it works just as it says in the instructions. Satisfied. ## Features - More control: Extreme 1,500-feet range allows you to operate a garage door opener, gate operator, myQ Light Accessory or commercial door operator—all from the security of the driver’s seat—for “no waiting” roll-in access - Simply secure: Security+2.0, the highest level of encryption, prevents hacking and provides peace of mind - Easy setup: Universal wireless, programming means no cutting into the garage wiring or installation of an unsightly receiver - International products have separate terms, are sold from abroad and may differ from local products, including fit, age ratings, and language of product, labeling or instructions. ## Technical Specifications | Specification | Value | |---------------|-------| | ASIN | B004RB73D0 | | Battery Types | Lithium | | Box Contents | Visor Clip | | Brand | Chamberlain | | Brand Name | Chamberlain | | Button Quantity | 3 | | Colour | Black | | Compatible Devices | Air Conditioner | | Compatible devices | Air Conditioner | | Connectivity technology | Radio Frequency | | Controller Type | Button Control | | Customer Reviews | 4.7 out of 5 stars 12,702 Reviews | | Global Trade Identification Number | 00012381173433 | | Item Type Name | Garage Door Opener Remote | | Item Weight | 0.07 Kilograms | | Manufacturer | Chamberlain | | Manufacturer Part Number | G953EV-P2 | | Max number of supported devices | 1 | | Maximum Number of Supported Devices | 1 | | Maximum Range | 1.64 Feet | | Model Name | Chamberlain / LiftMaster / Craftsman 953EV-P2 3-Button Garage Door Opener Remote, Security +2.0 Compatible, Includes Visor Clip | | Model Number | G953EV-P2 | | Network Connectivity Technology | Radio Frequency | | Number of Batteries | 1 Lithium Metal batteries required. I pushed the purple "learn" button on my opener, held down the button on the new remote, and nothing happened. Frustrated, I unpacked the directions (I know, it's my fault for not reading them first). This new remote has a button, labeled "PROG", on the back underneath the metal clip. You have to press this button and then click the desired button on the front 1-3 times (depending on the color of your learn button) to setup the remote. Once this is done, you press the learn button on the opener and then the desired button on the remote and you're all set. It's pretty easy (if you read the directions). It took about 10 minutes to do the whole thing, although it would have been less than five if I had read the instructions first. **Q: Does it replace for the model 953estd?** A: Will it replace Model 953estd, remote? **Q: Are the buttons on the remote a squishy rubber type with no tactile 'click' when pressed or a hard plastic with a definite 'click' when depressed?** A: hard plastic, slight click **Q: I need a specific model. model #is 953estd is this available?** A: This one that I purchased was for your exact same model and it works great. ## Customer Reviews ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Great Find *by B***L on 25 June 2024* My original controller broke, and I was unsure if I would be able to find a replacement. This Chamberlain product worked perfectly although a bit more expensive than the aftermarket ones but its worth the money when you program it and it works just as it says in the instructions. Satisfied. ## Frequently Bought Together - Chamberlain 953EV-P2 3-Button Garage Door Remote Control - Quantity 1 - Chamberlain 940EV-P2 Keyless Garage Door Access System - Quantity 1 - Chamberlain MC100-P2 Universal Mini Garage Door Remote - Quantity 1 --- ## Why Shop on Desertcart? - 🛒 **Trusted by 1.3+ Million Shoppers** — Serving international shoppers since 2016 - 🌍 **Shop Globally** — Access 737+ million products across 21 categories - 💰 **No Hidden Fees** — All customs, duties, and taxes included in the price - 🔄 **15-Day Free Returns** — Hassle-free returns (30 days for PRO members) - 🔒 **Secure Payments** — Trusted payment options with buyer protection - ⭐ **TrustPilot Rated 4.5/5** — Based on 8,000+ happy customer reviews **Shop now:** [https://www.desertcart.co.ke/products/55569375-953ev-p2-3-button-garage-door-remote-control-quantity-1](https://www.desertcart.co.ke/products/55569375-953ev-p2-3-button-garage-door-remote-control-quantity-1) --- *Product available on Desertcart Kenya* *Store origin: KE* *Last updated: 2026-10-26*
