The large were hard to handle so big of a sour but I like that they are a bit soft after the crunching. **Q: Do these have a thin layer of sugar coating on the outside** A: The lemon heads are different from regular lemon drops. It is smooth on the outside rather than having a coat of sugar like lemon drops have. **Q: Are lemonheads vegan?** A: Most would likely conclude "no". The ingredient list includes sugar and shellac. Sugar, if the standard white granulated, is made with bone char.
