Best breadmaker I've met.
This machine was considerably more expensive than I was planning to pay, but it's worth every penny. Solid, well built, and a quality finish. So far, I've made one white, several loaves of 50% wholewheat, and today an olive bread which is still cooling but it looks and smells fantastic. What do I like most? Hard to say, but the fact that the bread slips out of the tin easily and the blade DOESN'T tear a huge chunk out of it has to be up there at the top of the list. It's very quiet - almost inaudible most of the time - which is important for us as we have an open-plan kitchen/living room. Definitely a star buy, and one I wholeheartedly recommend.

Love it, but latest model not necessary
I absolutely love my bread maker. It's actually my first one and it took me a long, long time to decide which one was the best for me. I was more inclined towards a Panasonic as the brand I was looking into wasn't easily available in the UK (Moulinex). Then within the Panasonic world there's so many to choose from... I like to have the latest model of appliances and that's why I eventually ended up on this one, it looks much nicer than the previous ones. However is price worth the look compared to the last model? Not really (and deep down I knew it). There's just a few more gluten free options which I don't use myself.I tend to use always the same programs for pizza, bread and focaccia - I'm yet to experiment with pasta and jam - and so far amazing results every single time. It comes with a recipe book but I don't always follow it as I like to experiment. However the recipes are not bad at all!Overall, unless you need all the programs and gluten free options, I would go with the previous models which are exactly the same, just not in looks.EDIT: I've used a few more options for pasta, can't fault it. Tried more bread recipes, always good! The last couple of weeks there's been quite a few bread fails and I don't know why, hopefully it's just been a matter of some new flour brand I was using rather than the machine itself. Will update.

Very happy with the purchase - much better than expected
This is the first breadmaker I have ever used. I was a little hesitant to get one in the first place but happy that I did. I am sure that with skill and time you can produce the same or better bread with a good oven at home. Given that the results are much nicer than what I can find at the local supermarkets, the choice was easy. Plus, I know exactly what the bread is made of, all the time. The recipes that come with the UK model are nice, but I also downloaded the French and German manuals (> google translate) which have different kinds of European bread recipes. I tried about 15 different bread styles so far, white loaf, multi-seed wholemeal, milk bread, rye and spelt mix, french rustic, etc.The machine is very, very easy to use and does produce tasty results, of course using good bread flours and other ingredients. It mixes and bakes the bread evenly, and the crust is much better than I had expected.I made the same multi-seed wholemeal and french rustic breads several times, even with slight variations to the original recipes, and the have come out great every single time, no exception. Thus, highly recommended.

Finally the bread is baked
Overpriced machine. After many tries finally I managed to bake a good bread with it. Easy to use. Not all recepies are good that come with it.

Best machine ever
So glad I decided to splash out and buy the next version up when my old machine packed in - this is a brilliant bit of kit - about the only thing it doesn't do is go to the cupboard and get the ingredients out itself ;) Bread is so fluffy - takes a while to cook but even the fast bake loaves are so light and yummy if you are short on time. So many things I want to try I will be the size of a house before long!!

Great at first then produced terrible bread
Worked for a while then suddenly worked erratically.

Buy a cheaper Panasonic Bread Maker. This does not merit the extra cost.
I have bought four new Panasonic Bread Makers in the past fourteen years. I have remained loyal to the Panasonic brand (which was recommended to me) because these machines are reliable for daily bread- and dough-making with a life span of about three years. However, in all models I have bought, the coating starts to wear on the non-stick gold- and black-coated pans within two years and the pan has to be replaced. The substantial cost of this has led me on two occasions to replace the entire machine. The 2522 model is, in my opinion, overpriced for what it is and should give three years of service before requiring replacement. The new yeast-dispenser on the 2522 lid unit may well be a costly gimmick. Disappointed after baking several loaves using the yeast-dispenser, I have returned to placing the yeast directly in the pan and thus obtained the usual excellent results. In all of my bread makers the non-stick coating starts to bubble and then break away from the pan (where it joins the uncoated steel kneading mechanism underneath the core of the paddle) and from the paddle itself, despite careful washing after each use. The paddle, of course, creates most friction in the pan. If it is impossible to improve upon this design to extend the life of the non-stick coating to three years, then Panasonic might consider offering to recycle and replace pans and paddles which are still otherwise usable for a reasonable price. Because the non-stick coating tends to show wear suddenly without warning, I have now bought a cheaper model with next-day delivery in the hope that its pan will fit the 2522. Until the non-stick coating issue is resolved, I will be looking around for alternative manufacturers for my next Bread Maker.

King of the bread makers!
After much research I bought this bread maker; yes it is expensive and to be honest a cheaper Panasonic would probably have given the same results but various websites said this was the best. Delicious bread without worrying about yeast touching salt or remembering to add fruit. I've made white loaf, sandwich, spelt fruit, almond and apricot loaf and pizza bread - all were yummy. A really light dusting with flour stops ingredients sticking in fruit dispenser.Looks good but seems to attract dust like you wouldn't believe. It's a smoky colour and looks expensive.
