No one seems to know the weight limit of this bench as with the other cheap benches. I realize that some of the other reviewers have pressed upwards of 300 pounds on this bench in addition to their body weight without any issue. However, if you’re going to press over 100 lbs, it is worth it to spend $150 dollars on a higher end brand name bench with a 1000lb rating. Don’t risk it with this bench. I grabbed some lightweight 20lb dumbells nearby just to test it out for bench pressing before going any heavier and I was not confident enough in the build quality of the bench to trust it and throw my body weight + 40lbs back onto it to get into position. It felt much safer to slowly lower myself on it. Is that the kind of build quality that you want to bench 200+lbs on, especially if you are above 150lbs in bodyweight? Nope. Also, at 6’2” tall, if I sit on the very edge of the bench and lay back on it for bench pressing, my head ends up resting on the very edge of the bench. The $150 flat benches are also a much needed 6+” longer. The only person who should get this bench are people under 150lbs who are going to be pressing less than 100lbs total. Keep in mind that just because a bench might be able to hold a STATIC load, it might not be able to hold the same load dropped on it dynamically. That’s why it’s better to have a bench rated over the combined weight of your body + weights, just in case anything catastrophic occurs. **Q: Can a 66 year old woman put this together? Thank's** A: It is super easy. You can do it. If you have a socket wrench set it's even easier, if you don't see if you can borrow one from a neighbor. It should not take you more than 15 minutes. It took me longer to go to the garage and get my socket set then it took me to assemble. Very nice quality. **Q: What’s the max weight and metal thickness?** A: : The one I bough in Jan 2022 says the max is 220.5 lbs in the instructions I was sent by Amazon and that includes the total weight of dumbbells, bar and user.
