Unit still working after two summers.
The unit is still working after two summers. That is better than my last dehumidifier.

The product is faulty.
The dehumidifier broke down after 1 month and a half. The sensor refuses to bring temperature down. Such a shame. My former dehumidifier lasted 12 years and I always kept it on. This piece of junk broke down during my first flood warning.

Poor quality with ongoing problems
I am renting a three story home in the midwest that has this dehumidifier in the finished basement. It was manufactured about a year ago and the house flipper who sold this house to the property owner I rent from chose a cheapy just like he did everything else in the house and on the property. Although this dehumidifier has been used for less than a year, it has constant problems.Cons:It is very loud. Fortunately we can’t have guests in the guest room down there because of COVID, otherwise we would have to choose between guests suffering through the noise or their suffering too much humidity.The automatic draining does not usually work so now that we have summer humidity I have to check it every single day and manually empty it three or four times a day. Emptying it only twice a day means it fills up and turns off before I get to it each time, raising the humidity downstairs.The cord for plugging it in is pretty short considering the right spot for it might not be close to an electrical outlet; it’s too short to suit me.Consumer Reports doesn’t even bother including it or any other Whirlpool dehumidifier in its tests and ratings.Pros: It sucks a lot of water out of the air when it hasn’t turned off because it filled up.I would never buy this piece of cr*p. Invest in a better brand.

$ Worth Every Dollar!! $
This is the best home humidifier I have ever used. It's works as advertised and helped with the humidity here in NC. I started using it with just the bucket and its a large size. I kept it on 60 and dumped the water out every 3 days or so. I tried the pump but it was not what I needed. I didn't need to pump the water out. I decided to use this in my attic and it worked amazingly well. I've had it for 2yrs and the continuous drain works great, if not...I would not of put it in the attic. It really has helped with the power bill which I thought would be more because of the compressor but it prevent my ac from running as much and actually saved me $. For its price, it's definitely worth every dollar!

If you want a product that DOESN'T last...buy this one!!
I just got off the phone with Sarah, a customer service rep with Whirlpool, and she informed me that "sometimes when the unit is upright...the sensor inside the unit fails." Gee, silly me! I thought ALL dehumidifiers were supposed to function in the UPRIGHT position! When I informed her that I only run the dehumidifier in the summertime, she told me that also could affect the sensor. Since this unit is advertised to run to 41 degrees Fahrenheit, I ASSUMED when the temperature was below that number, as it is MOST OF THE WINTER MONTHS, I should shut off the machine. You guessed it. That also can affect the sensor...not running the unit continuously! I purchased the dehumidifies on May 3, 2017, and it stopped working in May of 2019. Hopefully, you will have better luck than I did...

Has been using it for a year now
When I searched for dehumidifiers with a built-in pump for continuous draining last year, it was one of the few available last year. I have been using it fine for a year now, and the frame is sturdy and the power consumption has been very low. I used the continuous draining only for a few weeks in the heavy rain season, and I use it only for a few hours per day to dehumidify in the morning and evening.

Malfunctioned in less than a month
Bought this less than a month ago. The electronics have already malfunctioned. When I first plugged it in, everything worked. I could adjust the desired humidity up and down. A few weeks later, I attempted to adjust the humidity and it would only go up. The "-" button to reduce humidity stopped working. I called whirlpool support. Followed their directions and they suggested I return it. These things are heavy and a pain to get down to the basement. It sucks that companies design products to fail, so we consumers continually need to buy more. I have a gas stove from 1920. Guess what...it still works wonderfully. Nothing these days is designed to work more than a few years without needing expensive service or replacement. What a waste and a detriment to the environment. I also have a whirlpool refrigerator that's less than a year old. Its first service appointment is next week. I would spend a lot more if a company really stood by their products and designed them to last.

Worked Great for a year - then stopped working just after warranty expired
I purchased my Whirlpool humidifier in May 2019. It worked great for a year and then stopped removing water. The overall design is simple and functional and it was removing a full bin of water every 24 hours during the first year. Then it completely stopped removing water and just runs and runs. No warning lights or error messages. The troubleshooting guide in the manual is not helpful. Another example of todays poor quality products - designed to fail after the warranty and more waste to the dump. According the the literature, was made by Rich Achiever INC in Lawrenceville, GA. No more Whirlpool for me.
