They gradually change from green to yellow as a sign - although sometimes it’s hard to know if today is the day, so sometimes it’s best to just keep a calendar reminder of their recommended life span. It’s a nice to have reminder either way! The bristles feel high quality, strong enough to really clean my teeth / gums but not too harsh / remain comfortable to use. The packaging is well ceiled but a little difficult to get the brush heads out.
