Review: Great thermostat - easy wiring. - Super replacement for my old TH231 which lasted 13 years before starting to fail. New model is a direct replacement so wiring is easy and it has been upgraded with a backlight which makes reading easy. Replaced the old one in 15 minutes - dead easy and works a treat. We now have a warm conservatory and my wife is happy - what''s not to like!

Has some fault codes now which would have been helpful in diagnosing the problem. Also has an off switch (as opposed to just turning down the temperature requirement) when you don't want it coming on. Easy to install as a replacement (but don't mess if you don't understand electricity), and set up. The early start function is now programmable rather than using switches accessed on rear. (This is a sophisticated function.)

## Questions & Answers

**Q: does this come with the base? or os it just the control module**
A: No it doesn't come with a base box, it can fit on a single pattress box or a single flush box. Needs to be 32mm minimum deep though.

**Q: How do i mount this on a wall? Does it just use a 35mm sìngle patress?**
A: Well its much like an ordinary light switch set up. There is a recessed plastic box that you let into the wall with the heating cable ducted to it and then you screw the face plate of the thermostat on after having connected up the cables.

**Q: I have ceiling heating with old thermostat can this replace them**
A: Normally Radiant ceiling panels are single pole aube do a similar stat I believe the TH106/U - try https://customer.honeywell.com/en-US/Pages/Product.aspx?cat=HonECC+Catalog&pid=TH106/U for assistance

**Q: Does this thermostat control include terminal block with relay and mounting plate?**
A: Sorry for the delay in replying. Mine was a replacement. I had it fitted by an electrician and I had to locate the bits he'd left.The terminal block yes. Not sure about relay, doesn't look as if there was a mounting plate. Sorry I can't be more help. Perhaps Aube could give a definite answer.

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Functional but fiddly

I bought several of these and am reasonably happy with them. Good points are: they work, they are quite easy to install, they fit a standard socket and they are reasonably priced. Plus they are SO much better than what I had before. Negative points: the display is pretty small and it's not at all easy to see whether it's on or off. Might the manufacturer have included a small telltale LED light so one could see ON/OFF from afar, without having to get down on hands and knees with a magnifying glass?
