## Description

Making a complete and balanced meal in the Hamilton Beach Electric Rice Cooker and Steamer is as easy as placing the ingredients in the bowl and turning it on. Not only does it cook rice and whole grains perfectly, but an integrated basket can be used to steam seafood, poultry and vegetables even while the rice cooks below. That means with just a few presses of a button, it’s quick and easy to serve salmon with kale and quinoa one night and chicken and broccoli over white rice the next. The 2-in-1 steamer basket can also be used to rinse grains before cooking, which prevents clumping and results in a fresher taste. Clean up is a snap with the dishwasher safe nonstick cooking pot. Its compact size makes for easy storage. Cooking healthy, delicious meals doesn’t get any simpler than that.

## Questions & Answers

**Q: Can you cook noodles in it?**
A: Yes

**Q: What is the exact wattage? Usually listed near the power cord. Thx**
A: 250

**Q: Water amount**
A: I am not sure of the capacity. It is quite a lot. I use it for brown rice and quinoa. The ratio is 1 1/4 cups more water than rice (2 cups rice, 3 1/4 cups water; 5 cups rice, 6 1/4 cups water, etc.) and it comes out perfect every time. I believe for white rice it is 1/2 cup more water than rice, the brown rice requires more water. I tried to make from instructions using the lines in the cooker but that wasn't accurate so I use this ratio and it is perfect. Hope this helps.

**Q: What is the measurement of the cup that comes with the cooker?**
A: The above answer is NOT correct: (3/4 Cup or 135ml). That is the last gradient you see embossed in the "cup" but the cups "full" purpose is to be exactly at level (completely full, not heaping) witch equates to exactly 180ml (1 gō). This is done on purpose as it applies to the Japanese cuisine standard of measurement being 1 gō in volume, which is the standard for one serving of rice or sake. In US measurement it equates to approximately 3/4 cup.
