Place roll on the floor facing the direction it is to be applied and unwind. Ensure the roll is stuck by smoothing out by either hand or foot. Simply push roll forward using hands or feet ensuring roll goes in a straight line. Carefully cut with a sharp knife or scissors, take care not to damage or scratch the covered surface. This is an excellent high quality product - far better than more expensive versions I've seen in DIY stores. It's wider, thicker and sticker than a very expensive version of this product I bought from Homebase. Make my decorating a hassle free dream. It can be a little difficult to work with, it does like to stick to itself - think of a big roll of sellotape. But with perseverance and a bit of practice, it provides great protection. I wish I'd bought more of the stuff as I ran out just before the end of the job, hence buying a more expensive, worse version of this product. Highly recommended, just buy more than you need.

Good product that would have scored higher if it had said get two people to put it down It was quite fiddly to lay especially on stairs and it is a right bugger when it sticks to itself in the middle of putting down a long length. All that being said, when you've put it down it lasts a long time and really does a great job of protecting the carpet (if you don't puncture it!). And if you lay it pretty flat it also makes cleaning up between work sessions really easy. I would brush, hoover and then wash down with a damp cloth so that I could leave it for a few days between work sessions and it didn't annoy my wife too much......
