## Description

Product Description This handcrafted, wind-activated bell, with its bold tone and design, functions nicely as a welcome bell at any entrance to your home or garden. We tone our bells to unite two important ways the instrument vibrates. One is the sound of the bell itself and the other is the hollow chamber inside the bell that acts like an organ pipe. The slots on the sides of the bell are the secret to this unique coupling. The result is a rich sound with much depth and beauty. This steel bell has been coated with a handsome, durable finish, so you can enjoy it for years to come. Hang your Heroic Windbell in a breezy spot and let it play in the wind In 1979, GRAMMY(R) Award-winning musician and instrument designer Garry Kvistad created the first Woodstock Chime from an aluminium lawn chair he found in a landfill. Fascinated by the Scale of Olympos, a 7th century pentatonic scale that can’t be played on a modern piano, Garry cut and tuned the lawn chair tubes to the exact frequency of the ancient scale. The resulting Chimes of Olympos was the first Woodstock Chime and is still one of our best selling, musically tuned windchimes. Garry and his wife Diane founded Woodstock Chimes in 1979 and still develop the chimes today. It remains a family-owned business in New York’s Hudson Valley Box Contains 1 x One Chime

## Questions & Answers

**Q: Does this rust quickly? i also have a north country bell which does rust, but that is by design. wondering if this is the same.**
A: No rust seen on mine. Probably been up for two years. Paint on it seems very good, no rust on welds, joints, edges, etc. Appears to maybe be a powder coat of some type. Very durable coating.

**Q: It's been 13 days since I ordered this. Are you going to ship it any time soon?**
A: You’re asking the wrong forum-contact customer service!

**Q: The Woodstock heroic medium states is 24.5 inches is that overall or tube also you state there is a large 40 inch is that the bell or overall also**
A: Hi Ricardo - The Woodstock Heroic Windbell - Medium is 24 inches from the top of the hanging ring to the bottom of the windcatcher. The bell itself is 10.25" long and 4" in diameter. The Heroic Windbell - Large is 40" from the top of the hanging ring to the bottom of the windcatcher. The bell itself is 15.75" long and 6" in diameter. I hope this helps!

**Q: Is the foam on the clapper to be removed and, is it generally better to have as long a cord as possible?**
A: YES, remove the foam; this is only packing material. I used an S-hook about 2ft in length rather than cording. I purchased it at Home Depot very reasonable price, weather resistant, just hooks over a limb in the tree. Our chime has been hanging in the church garden for almost a year and everyone loves the tone.
