The Bad Movie Bible: The Ultimate Modern Guide to Movies That Are so Bad They're Good (Movie Bibles, 1)

Only a Ninja can kill a Ninja...
First of all, though it means paying a bit more, what a joy it is to actually hold a hardcover book in your hands. I'm used to ebooks now and my home is glad I'm not filling the shelves with physical works again. But something about the smell of a book is quite evocative.I bought 'Bad Movie Bible' based on Rob Hill's excellent YouTube channel of the same name. Now, there are hundreds of people going through bad movies on YouTube and even more writing about them. But 'Bad Movie Bible' the channel is peppered with Hill's dry wit, something that appears in copious amounts in this excellent book. Whereas many commentators online have found fame just shouting a lot at Manos: Hands of Fate and their ilk, Hill's style is wonderfully understated. Very dry and British. The book is broken up into genres and features some really good interviews with people like Frank Stallone and 'Birdemic's Whitney Moore (who reveals director James Nguyen was a massive jerk). There's also a real affection for the genre, something that comes through on every page; it isn't just laughing at ineptitude, this is a superbly written ode to the B-Movie. And its a reminder to us fans of cinema - from 'Seven Samurai' and 'Stalker' to 'Robot Apocalypse' - of the warm, fuzzy feeling that something either very good or very bad gives the viewer. My only gripe is that 'The Bad Movie Bible' doesn't feature my own favourite stinker, 'The Howling: New Moon Rising'. And perhaps it was a bit tough on 'Death Wish 3'. That said, this is a brilliant book and I would urge you to buy it.

Superb
For fans of youtube channels such as Bad Movie Bible, Red Letter Media, Good Bad or Bad Bad etc this is frankly essential reading! Mr Hill provides a very entertaining guide to the world of amusingly bad cinema! Some of these films you will already know, which will only reinforce your ego driven feeling of superiority for knowing them! However, there are plenty that you’ve never heard of too, for which you will find yourself scouring the internet for a copy! Peppered throughout are interviews with some of the infamous masterminds features within!

Very Impressed
Having brought this as a last minute Christmas present I wasn't expecting much but struggling for ideas. I was actually very impressed with the quality and content. I wish I had brought a second copy for myself. The book has lots of different bad movies from The Room, Troll 2, Miami Connection and so on. Lots of pictures, information about the films and great lines from the film which show you why it's so bad.

Great guide for those who appreciate the 'so bad it's good' genre
Awesome book. Not just a great compendium for people who want to work their way through history's terrible films for laughs, but a witty read. Each film is broken down by the author and rated. Some great pictures too. Recommended!

Funny, brilliantly researched, informative and well written
Rob Hill's experience of working in the film industry pays off. His insight into the crass, the corny and the plain stupid is funny, brilliantly researched, informative and well written. Read the book, run the movies and laugh out loud.

Funny and brilliant
I bought this book as a gift for my son, a certified film buff, and he loves it. I read some of it and thought it was fascinating although, personally it's a bit beyond me, but apparently it's very funny.

An Absolute Riot!!!
As knowledgeable as I am about such classics such as "The Room" or "Batman and Robin", nothing could prepare me for just how much much MUCH worse it could get. Rob Hill's years of industry experience coupled with a seemingly insane desire to see every conceivable turkey ever put to film had me laughing my head off.A MUST HAVE for any fellow film geeks who wish to venture into the murky depths of bad movies and come out the other side with a smile on their face!

Spedizione super veloce

Well researched, well written and very funny
I'm relatively new to the genre of 'so bad they're good' movies. My interest was sparked having gone to watch The Room at a movie theater with 300 other people hurling spoons at the screen and shouting 'WHO ARE YOU?'. This book was my way into the genre and I have to say I couldn't have asked for a better guide. It's well written and well researched with exclusive interviews and hits just the right note in being very funny but also respectful of the lengths some of these people went to make these films. I've since bought the book as presents for friends I know who are even more into their bad movies, and they've also been impressed, especially by the first-hand accounts of the making of movies like Raw Force and Ninja 3. This book had stuff they didn't know about. This is a fantastic book on an under-served subject. Just hoping there will be a volume 2!
