**Q: Can you use a regular pot with this steamer?**
A: Sure you can as long as the pot is deep and at least 8" diameter (deep, small stock pot).  The steamer basket only is $4.95.  Steaming rice in the basket does give the rice a "special" flavor.  The Wok Shop

**Q: besides sticky rice what else can be made in it???**
A: I only use it for that but I suppose you could steam vegetables in it? It is sort of a one trick pony kind of gadget...
