Be careful of cheap knock off's which are made in Asia. **Q: what is capacity of HL 485 ?** A: I believe its tested capacity is 7,000 lbs. I bought an attachment to use it on my lifted excursion, so unless your heavier than an excursion I think your good. I don't think you'll be disappointed with it. **Q: Why is it cast and not forged? Isn't cast metal extremely brittle?** A: Its cast steel not cast iron. Apparently the metallurgists have figured this out.
