BROTHER M1034D Overlocker

I have had this machine for over a year now and it has run without a problem. It has transformed my sewing to have the seam allowances overlocked and it is a joy to use. Once you get over the fear of using an overlocker, it is brilliant. As with any overlocker, you just have to be careful to make sure that only the bit you want to overlock goes under the needles (and the blade). I have a much more expensive Bernina sewing machine and I have to say is that this Brother overlocker is a lot less temperamental. If I could do it all over again, I'd buy a Brother sewing machine too on the strength of how amazing this overlocker is. I've never had any tension issues and I cannot recommend this machine highly enough. Why pay more when this works so well?If you get one, do check out YouTube to see how to thread it. I found it so much easier to watch someone doing it rather than just looking at the diagram. That said, there are some pretty good videos from Brother showing the machine in action.

I am so so so pleased with my new brother overlocker, it is brilliant and so easy to use. I keep putting of getting because I didn't like the sound of people saying they were noisy, hard to thread, scary to use. Don't listen to any of that. Yes at first just like any new thing they seem strange. But it is SO easy to use. Threading fiddly, but not much more than my sewing machine. And using it well what can I say. A walking in the park, but much more fun!!!!! If you are thinking of getting an over locker. Go for it! I think the only thing I would have gotten differently would have been to go for the one with a needle threaded, like my sewing machine has. Other than that I am so very happy with my new machine.

This unit was purchased as a replacement overlocker for my wife who works from home as a professional Sewing Machinist. It replaced her previous overlocker, also a Brother model.The unit arrived promptly, was extremely well packed (the original Brother box was inside another sturdy box) and was exactly as described. She has used the machine and it works well.The Instruction Booklet included is adequate, but probably lets down what is otherwise an excellent machine. Threading the four spools is likely to be the most daunting task to the beginner, and the simplistic diagram provided in the manual is not the most helpful aid. This is particularly relevant with the final threading of spool 4, where the thread needs to go through a tiny hole in a sliding shaft. My wife persevered, and finally succeeded in completing the threading, but I was on the point of suggesting she tried You Tube to check for any instructional videos. I have since checked You Tube myself and YES, there are a number of helpful videos, though surprisingly none from the manufacturer themselves.

If you're serous about sewing, you need one of these. Finishes to a professional standard and seems to punch through anything. Not too horrible to rethread and works straight out of the box. Lots of faffing around instructions and tutorials when all you need to do is.. . Raise up the thing that lifts the thread away from the reels of thread, lift foot using white lever on right end, insert material, lower foot, keep your fingers out of the way a bit .... and put the pedal to the metal... It just does what it's meant to do... Then read the manual. Worth knowing is that it sews a nice little weave of threads whether you have material in or not so you can start and stop sewing with nothing under the foot. Love it

If you like to sew, this machine is perfect. It is quick, efficient, easy to thread ( yes, that's right) will sew through 6 layers of denim easily and do all your trimming at the same time. I still have problems with the knife trimming my internal corners, but that's an issue with my sewing technique I think or the size of the corner!It's easy to thread because you just have to remember to do it in order, you do have to rethread all four needles but it takes seconds per needle and there is online video help if the manual doesn't do it for you.I love my overlocker, so fast, no messing about.

Im a first time user to over lockers so cannot compare to other machines. I went mainly on existing reviews. What I can say is after persevering with re-threading for the first time I now feel confident to re-thread again using the clear instructions in the instruction manual. The video was useful too as I like to watch a demonstration before I have a go. I'm really pleased with the professional looking result especially as it cuts the fabric at the same time. The only down side is its quite noisy but for the price, its good value for money.

Je nai pas vraiment eu le,temps de m'approprier cette Surjeteuse. Je l'ai enfilée assez facilement (cest la 1ère fois ét je trouve que çe nest pas difficile). J'ai effectué un ou deux essais sur des bouts de tissus et le rendu est très bien. Je l'ai réglée sur 4 pour toutes les bobines et pour un tissu normal (ni trop épais, ni trop fin) le point est parfait. J'attends de vraiment d'avoir fait un ouvrage complet pour mettre une appréciation définitive. Pour le.moment j'en suis ravie. Je confirme car maintenant je l'ai utilisee davantage et,je peux dire que c'est vraiment un appareil génial qui fait gagner un temps fou en couture et permet de belles finitions. MERCI AU VENDEUR. DÉCEMBRE 2018 : je reviens pour louer le sérieux et le professionnalisme du vendeur : j’ai eu un souci lié à un dérèglement de ma surjeteuse. J’ai immédiatement contacté ce vendeur et après divers essais effectués par mes soins ils m’ont envoyé une étiquette de retour afin que je la leur revoie. Ils viennent de me prévenir qu’elle sortait de leur atelier et qu’elle revenait. Franchement ils accompagnent réellement l acheteur. Grand bravo.

Buenísima elección, estoy encantada con ella, soy diseñadora y confecciono camisetas de punto, el resultado es profesional, el enhebrado facilísimo, esta super bien indicada la trayectoria de cada hilo, indicada por colores para no liarte, y lo mejor es que ya viene enhebrada!! es un detalle de agradecer, viene con los utensilios típicos de la maquina, pinzas y agujas de repuesto...la recomiendo 100%

The media could not be loaded.  Seit vielen Jahren bin ich begeisterte Hobbyschneiderin. Seit vier Jahren nähe ich mit meinerSinger Symphonie III. Diese arbeitet sehr zuverlässig und verfügt über viele Stiche, Stretchstiche, Zierstiche und einigen Sonderfunktionen wie Knopfloch, Knöpfe annähen, Reißverschluss einnähen...Doch immer wieder begegnete mir in Nähbüchern und Zeitschriften spezielle Overlockmaschinen. Nachdem ich mich über die Fähigkeiten dieser Maschine informiert hatte, ging sie mir nicht aus dem Kopf und der Wunsch, mit einer Overlock zu arbeiten, wurde immer größer.Bei Amazon entdeckte ich zum Super-Sonderpreis die W6 Overlockmaschine. Nachdem ich die vielen positiven Rezensionen gelesen hatte, bestellte ich sie. Doch leider bekam ich eine Maschine, die nicht richtig funktionierte. Ich schickte sie zurück. Eine Ersatzlieferung wäre für mein Vorhaben zu spät gekommen. Ich entschied mich für die schneller verfügbare, allerdings 70€ teurere Brother Overlock M1034D … und darüber bin ich glücklich.Nicht, dass ich enttäuscht war, dass die W6 nicht richtig funktionierte (das kann bei jeder Maschine aller Preisklassen vorkommen und dafür gibt es ja auch die Garantie).Vielmehr bin ich glücklich, weil die Brother für mich mit heutigem Wissen viele Vorteile gegenüber der W6 hat und die wären:Bei der W6 ist das Einfädeln ziemlich fummelig, bei der Brother wegen der Einfädelhilfe kinderleichtDie Bedienelemente und der Nähfußhebel sind bei der Brother viel besser angeordnet und bequemer erreichbar und die Maschine ist linkshänderfreundlicher.Das Fußpedal ist wertiger.Die Brother kann mir einem Handgriff zur Freiarmmaschine umgebaut werden, bei der W6 geht das nicht. Gerade bei Kinderbekleidung ist das sehr arbeitserleichternd und weniger kompliziert, kleine Bündchen anzunähenDie Brother hat eine viel ausführlichere Bedienanleitung und es ist sogar eine DVD dabei, die sehr hilfreich für die ersten Schritte ist.Sobald die Garantie ausgelaufen ist, kann man die Brother zu jedem Nähmaschinenhändler, der Brother führt, bringen um sie warten oder reparieren zu lassen. Die W6 muss immer zum Hersteller/Vertrieb geschickt werden.Die Brother wird mit einer dünnen Staubschutzhülle geliefert. Bei der W6 ist nichts dabei.Nun zur Maschine Brother Overlock M1034D:Mit einer Overlock bekommt man eine wie aus der Textilindustrie gewohnte saubere Nacht hin. Besonders bei Bekleidung wird das Ergebnis professionell, denn es wird in einem Arbeitsgang genährt, versäubert und der überschüssige Stoff abschnitten. Die Maschine arbeitet mit 4 Fäden (Untergreifer, Obergreifer und 2 Nadeln). Allerdings ist es auch möglich, nur mit einer Nadel und somit 3 Fäden zu nähen und erhält je nach Einstellung den schmalen Overlockstich oder einen Rollsaumen.Man benötigt 4 Overlock Garnkonen (sind nicht im Lieferumfang enthalten) und normale Nähmaschinen-Nadeln (2 Stück sind eingesetzt und ein kleines Sortiment Nadeln ist zusätzlich dabei). Es sind bei Lieferung 4 Fäden voreingefädelt, so dass man die Garnkonen nur noch mit den Fäden verknoten und durchziehen muss. Ich habe allerdings von Anfang an richtig eingefädelt. Erstens bekommt man dadurch Übung denn irgendwann MUSS man selber einfädeln und außerdem ist das bei der Brother kinderleicht und in der Bedienanleitung sehr verständlich erklärt. Die Anknoterei finde ich persönlich viel fummeliger. Nun kann man nach Anleitung alle Einstellungen wie Stichlänge, Stichbreite und Fadenspannung vornehmen und dann kann es auch schon losgehen :)Ich bin von Anfang an mit der Maschine sehr gut klar gekommen, auch wenn ich noch üben muss. Ich habe als Linkshänder keine Schwierigkeiten.Die Maschine verfügt über ein Differenzialtransport. Mit ihm kann man besonders bei elastischen Stoffen verhindern, dass der Stoff Wellen schlägt oder der Rand dehnt. Man kann aber auch absichtlich den Stoff kräuseln. Das ist schon eine feine Sache und lässt Raum für Kreativität. Auch hier ist in der Bedienanleitung toll erklärt, wie man die Einstellungen vornimmt um individuelle Ergebnisse zu erzielen.Die Nähte werden sauber und das Stichbild ist einfach klasse und professionell. Wer mit dieser Maschine liebäugelt sollte nicht zögern und zugreifen. Wenn man einmal mit einer Oberlock genäht hat, wird man sie nie wieder hergeben.Oft wird im Zusammenhang mit der Anschaffung von Nähmaschinen von „anfängertauglich“ gesprochen. Ich bin der Meinung dass, egal um welches Hobby es geht, immer Geräte angeschafft werden sollen, die auch noch genügen, wenn man sich zum Semiprofi hochgearbeitet hat. Anfängermaschinen bedeuten oft nicht mehr als 1. weniger Funktionen und 2. preiswert und häufig komplizierter. Schnell wächst der Wunsch nach einer Maschine, die mehr kann und leichter zu bedienen ist. Mit der Brother Overlock hat man eine Maschine, die für Anfänger und Fortgeschrittene gleichermaßen geeignet ist.Diese Overlockmaschine ersetzt allerdings nicht die normale Nähmaschine sonder ergänzt sie nur. Die normale Nähmaschine braucht man für Geradstich, Säumen, Knopflöcher, Knöpfe annähen, Reißverschlüsse einnähen usw. denn das kann eine Overlook nicht.Ich bin richtig glücklich mit dieser Maschine und kann mir Nähprojekte ohne sie nicht mehr vorstellen. Die Anschaffung hat sie gelohnt, weil ich mich jetzt viel motivierter fühle, auch Bekleidung zu nähen. Besonders dehnbare Stoffe wie Jersey, Nicky und Sweatshirtstoffe sind für die Brother Overlock kein Problem und werden perfekt verarbeitet.Ich kann die Maschine allen HobbyschneiderInnen und NäherInnen empfehlen, die sich gerne weiterentwickeln möchten und Wert auf professionelles Aussehen der Nähprojekte legen. Consegna puntuale. La macchina è un piccolo gioiellino, 8 punti diversi, ottimo rapporto qualità prezzo. Non mi aspettavo tanto da una macchina così economica. Acquisto che consiglierei sicuramente. Tante soddisfazioni. Si può scaricare il manuale di istruzioni dal sito Brother Italia, ma ne è dotata anche in formato cartaceo. In dotazione pinzette, portarotoli e retina per fili scivolosi. C'è anche un Dvd (un po datato) con istruzioni per preparare la macchina ai vari punti, comunque molto facile da usare.

Meine Tochter ist begeisterte Hobbyschneiderin und da kam die Brother Overlock 1034D gerade richtig. Gut verpackt in einem stabilen Karton kommt sie ins Haus und sie wurde mit Begeisterung ausgepackt und aufgebaut.Das Prinzip der Overlock ist klar: 4-Faden System, Stoffe zusammennähen, Kanten versäubern und gleichzeitig verbliebene Nahtzugabe abschneiden um ein Ausfransen des Materials zu verhindern. Ebenso das Herstellen elastischer Schließnähte und verschiedener Saumarten wie Rollsäume oder gekettelter Säume, dazu dekorative Applikationen wie Zierstiche, Flechtungen, Übereck-Stiche und Patchwork-Effekte. So die Informationen des Herstellers.Die beiliegende Einfädelanleitung war hilfreich, es klappte damit auf Anhieb und nach ein paar Fingerübungen mit Stoffresten um die Fadenspannung und die Einstellungen zu regulieren ging es los.Eine Hose in angesagtem Stoff für den Jüngsten meiner Tochter war ein einer Stunde gefertigt und lt. meiner Tochter waren die Unterschiede zur normalen Nähmaschine signifikant. Auch mehrfach gelegte Nähte wurden klaglos verarbeitet. Die elastischen Stiche sind gerade bei Kinderbekleidung sehr nützlich weil weniger Nähte reißen können, sie sind eben einfach flexibler.Als Nächstes wurde ein Kinderbettchenhimmel angefertig, eine schnelle und saubere Sache, für so etwas sind Overlock-Maschinen einfach das Mittel der Wahl. Nich umsonst haben ja die Änderungsschneidereien alles solche Maschinen stehen, wenn auch meist in teurerer professioneller Ausführung.Als Nächstes wird meine Tochter mal Overlocknähte in Kontrastfarben für dekorative Effekte probieren. 4-fädige Verbundnähte mit Sicherheitsnaht, Doppelkettenstiche und Covernähte sind auch möglich, hier ist aber eine behutsame Herangehensweise nötig.Die Verarbeitung der Brother Overlock 1034D ist gut, mir ist nichts Nachteiliges aufgefallen, auch eine gute Haltbarkeit sollte zu erwarten sein, aber das kann man natürlich erst nach längerer Zeit herausfinden.Fazit: Meine Tochter ist glücklich mit der Brother Overlock 1034D, sie findet die Maschine Klasse und würde sie um keinen Preis wieder hergeben.
