I need to see what the detailed trouble codes are and what they mean; not just the codes like on the cheaper handheld versions. I want to be able to clear them and see if they return. I must be able to activate some functions for typical maintenance and repair work: A key improvement is that this IP616 version 2, compared to v1 is bidirectional. That means that you can activate and program things. For example, release the electronic parking brake (EPB) for brake pad replacements, activate the ABS pump during guided brake bleeding, activate a coolant pump to release air, etc. After it arrived, I had a ‘panic’ fault code on my 2020 BMW X3’s sunroof. The motors needed to relearn the force that it takes to close the sunroof. I activated the sunroof relearning functioning and it fixed the issue. I wanted something better that didn't cost thousands $$$$ of dollars. This seems to fit the bill perfectly. It connected to my two vehicles seamlessly (Honda & Saturn) and help me diagnose an AC issue with the Saturn. The high side pressure was too high due to overfilling the refrigerant which cause the AC to not work. After correcting that the AC was back working again. This scanner also alerted me to issues with the Honda that I was not aware of. I especially like the ability to send a report directly to my WIFI connected printer or a pdf to my email address. In addition to the diagnostic functions being able to turn things on and off is a great benefit to diagnosing issues such as the radiator fan not working.
