Review: Fit good, worked perfect. - Yes the small coil wire connects on the lower side of the coil. It's not a problem, it's only a 1/2 inch closer to the engine than the original one. These coils solved my poor running condition. It runs like new. If your Kohler 7000 series engine is over 2 or 3 years old and bogs down under a load, and smells like it's running rich, there's a very good chance your ignition coils are bad. Remember that the coil and spark plug wire are one, either one could be bad, it's a cheap and simple fix.
