A: Yes, even though this is a much older unit that has been since redesigned, they kept the container dimensions the same.

**Q: will this pitcher fit the 5000 model?**
A: It fit mine!

**Q: Is this bpa free? can u store a shake temporarily in fridge with container?**
A: VITAMIX Containers should never be stored in the refrigerator.  The lubrication in the bearings will dry out and the blade will seize prematurely.  To extend the life of the bearings never put the container in the refrigerator or the freezer and do not get the bottom of the container wet.
