It fits a quart canning jar perfectly, but that's only a 4 cup vessel and I usually make a max level batch which is five cups. How can I get it out of the bottom of the strainer? My hand doesn't fit in.** A: I have always cleaned up right after using; however, I would recommend soaking in hot soapy water for a while, then use the supplied brush to scrub it.
