## Description

Sharp Pebble Whetstone Knife Sharpening Stone Kit - 2 Sided 400/1000 Grit | Razor Sharp Edges at Home - Wet Stone Kitchen Knife Sharpener with Flattening Stone, NonSlip Rubber Base & Angle Guide - desertcart.com

Review: Legendary blades - I was never good at sharpening knives and so spent years neglecting my knives, which have long been first rate tomato-smashers. I finally got tired of all the extra effort in the kitchen and ordered this, along with the 1000/6000 so that I could use its guide. Started with the guide because of my lack of confidence, but honestly, after using it to sharpen one carving knife (took a while because of the knife's atrocious condition), I was familiar enough with the angle to free-hand the rest. The 1000 grit will get your knives to slide easily through a tomato or pork loin. I assume that the 6000 grit would refine the blade to the point of it making a gong sound each time it is removed from the drawer, but I have not had need to take things to that level. This product has not only worked wonders on my knives, it has cured my lifelong insecurity about sharpening them. It's as though a great weight has finally been lifted and I have solved a riddle, or an enigma. Nothing in this world can you trust: not men, or women, or beasts, but this. . . . . . .this you can trust .
Review: Really Good Stones - Can achieve a really sharp edge with these stones. These were my first stones that I really learned to sharpen on. As long as you're only trying to sharpen and not repair or regrind an edge, these will do the job. 400 to 1000 alone is enough to get a razor edge. Would definitely recommend to anyone that doesn't sharpen often. There are a couple of things I need to mention though: 1. I found out that leaving them submerged in water all the time causes the stones to degrade. The stones develop a film that floats om the water and embeds into the surface of the stones. Also rust spots will tend to form if the stones are not completely cleared of all the metal removed from the knives. Not being able to leave them submerged is a hassle for me if I want to use them everyday. I have to make sure to soak them 30 mins everyday before I open to ensure they are saturated. 2. The stones become closer to 400 grit the more you use the leveling stone (I use it as a dressing stone. 400 grit is not coarse enough to level a stone). After flattening its best to use another grit thats close to the one of the stone. Eg after flattening the 3000 I would recommend using 3000 grit to dress the stone. Can be done with another 3000 grit stone, sandpaper, or abrasive powder. Haven't used them with high carbon knives but im sure it wouldnt be a problem. If these were splash and go stones, I would never buy another stone for work again. Going to replace these for nagura splash and go stones.

## Features

- PRO-SHARP EDGES AT HOME: Dull knives don't need replacing or a trip to a professional sharpening service. One pass on this Sharp Pebble whetstone knife sharpening stone restores a razor edge in your own kitchen. Water-based sharpening. No honing oil required.
- COMPLETE SHARPENING KIT IN ONE BOX: No hunting for add-ons. This whetstone knife sharpener kit includes a dual-grit 400/1000 sharpening stone, flattening stone, non-slip rubber base, and step-by-step guide, ready to use right away. Grit 400 rebuilds dull or damaged edges; grit 1000 refines them to a smooth, keen finish.
- BEGINNER-FRIENDLY EDGE RESTORATION: Nervous about ruining a blade? The non-slip base locks the stone in place while the step-by-step guide walks you through the correct angle and stroke, so first-time sharpeners can work with confidence. Designed to make your first razor edge simple, not stressful.
- SHARP RESULTS YOU CAN SEE: Take a dull blade from crushing tomatoes to slicing them paper-thin in a single session. The coarse 400 grit resets the edge; the 1000 grit hones it to a clean, keen finish you can feel on the first cut.
- SHARPENS FAR MORE THAN KITCHEN KNIVES: One stone handles your whole toolkit — chef, paring, and santoku knives plus pocket knives, hunting knives, chisels, and garden tools. From kitchen to workshop, this sharpening stone reprofiles or repairs almost any dull blade.
- BUILT TO LAST, STAYS FLAT & CLEAN: The included flattening stone levels the surface as it wears, keeping your whetstone true for years of consistent sharpening. Simple water-only cleanup — no oils, no mess.

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Good for sharpening.
*by M***S on July 7, 2026*

This wetstone seems to work well for sharpening knives. They seem to cut much better after i use this on them, but i don't have an edge tester to say how much better. This is the first one i've used so i'm not sure how much these are supposed to wear but this seems to wear out really fast. I understand the 'sediment' that grinds off helps to sharpen the blade so that's a good thing, i guess. I do wish this came with a case though. Something mildew resistant. I thought i let the stone dry enough before putting it back in the box (i lose things) but next time i used it, the inside had mold. Let it dry completely before storing!
