It's a Winner!
There were so many 5 star reviews that I was concerned they were fake, so I put off buying this board. Wish I hadn't! This thing is great. It is sturdy and well made. I'm overweight and worried about falling, so I'm using it against a wall with a table to hold on to if needed. Also, I'm using it on carpeting. I'm taking it slow, just a few minutes a day, at about 2 minutes each time. Yes, I'm that out of shape. Day one I did more, and my ankles and feet were aching the next day, so I'm taking it slow. They send a list of exercises to try, and I'm using the first 3 or 4. The intensity of the exercises they recommend goes way up, to strengthen the core, for anyone starting off fit.I bought this board after feeling unsteady climbing up to stand on a chair. I'm way too young for such insecurities (under 60) and realized I need to change now if I want to enjoy the next 30 years. This board has me feeling more confident. There's even a little thrill as I take it in a full circle or ride from side to side.

Good item.
Good for daughter to do her PT exercises at home. Would use a different material for the non-skid surface. It feels like sand paper.

This really has helped me improve my balance, love it
Very happy with this guy. It's sturdy, well made, with gripper stuff so I am less likely to fall off. I bought it to use at my desk and when I first tried, I laughed at myself, there was no way to stay on. But after just a few tries, I got the hang of it and now use daily at the desk as well as incorporating into my exercise. It's small enough not to get in the way. When we went on vacation locally, I put it in the car so I could use while we were away. Great product. I think it's something all older people should have to improve their balance.

Board is boring
I wanted to return this so bad, but it cost just as much to return it as it did to purchase it. The only thing this is good for is stretching out my calves.

Good workout but hard to get started
This was originally purchased as a gift for someone, but after seeing how big it was I could not bring this on the plane. So, I've tried using it myself and found it not that easy to balance on the wobble board. If the base was a bit wider to give you a chance to situate yourself upon first stepping on the board it would have helped. Once you're on the board then it's a good workout trying to balance on it.

Helping me avoid posterior tibial tendon tear repair
I learned about the wobble board from a friend, who had rehab after a posterior tibial tendon tear surgery. I have been suffering for nine months limping around with my own posterior tibial tendon partial tear and wasn't making much progress with my current physical therapy. I thought I'd give it a try, because my doctor said my slow recuperation is that I don't have Full range mobility in my ankle anymore . I had a walking cast for two months then I had a brace for three months. This extended bracing seemed to make my ankle like a stiff tree. I started to use a front to back "foot rocker" device (TM) which helped some, but only as an achielles calf stretch and I had to stand to use it- BUT it was the WOBBLE BOARD that actually gave me good range of motion and loosened up my ankle. I use it SITTING down because my foot was hurting so much with full weight on my ankle. Now my right foot feels better than my left! ( I am age 62 and had a degenerative tear from flat feet)It only took about four days before that severe stiffness loosened up. I use it seated, twice a day , on carpet and a dining room chair to sit on so my knees are bent at 90 degrees . I use with sneakers placing my left foot at 9 o'clock position and 3 o'clock on the other foot. I simply slowly tip my toes forward to the 12 o'clock position then tip my foot to the 1 o'clock position 3 o'clock position for o'clock position 5 o'clock position and so on both clockwise and counterclockwise in a circle very slowly just to loosen up my ankle . I was trying to avoid surgery and it looks like this might be doing it for me. I'll find out pretty soon from the doctor. I was able to walk down the hallway at my job for the first time in nine months in a straight line . I can't say at this point I'm completely cured but I'm much brighter along than I was a few weeks ago! Eventually I hope to be able to use it in the standing position. I'm really glad my friend told me about this.My friend is post op 3 years having the full surgery done and that was his physical therapy's solution for his initial stiff ankle after pins , he continues to use it whenever he gets a flareup of pain in his ankle.

AN EXCITING, SUPER HOT PRODUCT!
An excellent product to improve balance and at the same time strengthen your core and leg muscles. You are strongly urged, however, to stand near a wall or kitchen counter to steady yourself until you get the balance aspect down pat to avoid falling.Likewise it is important to carefully follow the directions that are enclosed with the balance board and watch the video at least a couple times.Make a regular habit of using the balance board carefully and consistently and you will be amazed at how fast you will improve, plus how much better you will feel about yourself when you do.I know I do, and I'm 82. :- )
