Kids love building and taking apart trigger knife kits over and over. the fun gets even bigger with 13 mix and match colors that allow kids to customize their very first knife in their favorite color combinations. .

We ordered different brands of wooden and plastic kits to try out. Being in a humid environment, we had a little bit of trouble with the wooden kits of a different brand (I think the dowels swelled in the humidity, which made it tough for the boys to fit them in without an adult helping). The assembled Klecker plastic knife was a little bit smaller than the wooden one, and seemed to work better in their hands. After the boys built the Klecker knives, they were each given a bar of soft soap to carve. (For those scouters out there, we had them use tongue depressors and a sanding block to practice their sharpening skills.) The plastic Klecker knives were easiest to clean up after the soap carving (just add water!), and easiest to take apart (to let another group use them). Great knives--we highly recommend them!

Since the wooden ones were all sold out, I figured they might be a good substitute. I have to say, we all have enjoyed them enormously! I like the bright colors as they are easier to find when "lost" by a child in the house, and each child can have a knife in their favorite color. The kids spent time sanding the edges of the pieces where they were removed from the sprue (the plastic frame that was part of the mold they come in), them assembled and disassembled them multiple times over the next few days. They are simple to put together, and a very fun educational toy. I plan on buying more, so we can mix and match colors, and so the adults can have a few also! We did have one problem in shipping which was not the business' fault - our package was delayed in the large "UPS Shipping Snafu" just before Christmas. We actually received a notice from Klecker Knives about it, as well as a personal follow-up email to make certain we had received our order. I appreciate the attention they gave to the shipping problem, and am more likely to give them my business because I had such a positive experience.

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Fun, works well, good practice or starter knife for kids.

Cool little knife. Goes together in just a few minutes. It is not really a sharp plastic so you could sand it a bit. Some of the edges where the pieces come off off the plastic is sharp and would be good to sand them a bit. Also it doesn't "snap" together or anything. So it would be wise to use some glue perhaps. Opens and closes well. All-in-all I'm pretty happy with it and it's a good way for my kids to learn about knifes and knife safety.
