Package Contents: - TU3-ETG - Quick Installation Guide - CD-ROM (Drivers) Review: Does in fact work with macOS Mojave 10.14.2; just requires manual installation of the driver first - Some previous reviewers from 2018 commented on how this unit doesn't work with a Mac... those issues no longer exist with the latest macOS at the time of this review (10.14.2 Mojave). However, it is NOT simply plug & play like most people might expect.... you need to go to the TrendNet support site for this product and download the driver for macOS. Once I installed that baby I was good to go.... if you do it right you'll see the adapter show up as "AX88179 USB 3.0" in your network settings. I tested this unit out on my Raspberry Pi 3 B and B+ as well... it was plug & play... sounds like the same will be the case with Windows, but I don't have a PC so I haven't tested that. I only have 200Mbps internet so I didn't get to test the full capabilities of this unit - but it certainly performed better than my older model 10/100 adapter from Apple, which of course maxed out around 100Mbps. Review: Works as needed - Honestly, I can't tell you if it'll live up to the Gig rating, but here's what I can tell you. My old Win 7 relic has a 100M ethernet port, which was bottlenecking. I couldn't get more than 90mbps down even though my internet gateway was pulling in at 700mbps down. Using this adapter, my speeds bumped up to 180, which may not be blazing, but it IS a noticeable improvement. No issues at all with driver install, seems solidly built. Good bang for the buck. Pays to stay with the established and respected brands. ## Features - PROVIDE FAST ETHERNET SPEEDS: Connect your USB 3.0 enabled desktop, MacBook, notebook PC, or device at fast Gigabit speeds - MANUFACTURER PROTECTION: We stand by the quality of our products. The TU3-ETG USB 3.0 to Gigabit Ethernet Adapter is backed and supported with 2 years of TRENDnet Manufacturer Protection. - NDAA COMPLIANT: With our NDAA compliant USB 3.0 to Gigabit Ethernet Adapter, you can plan and install networking solutions that Government customers demand today (U.S. and Canada Only) - RELIABLE TECH SUPPORT: Our team of advisors, support and tech experts are English speaking, and available for all your needs during normal business hours. As the MacBook Air did not have a disc drive I simply went to the TRENDnet website and downloaded the drivers. After downloading I installed the drivers and it worked without any issues on the MacBook Air. I repeated the same process using my Kubuntu (Linux) computer and got the same results. The device works exactly as stated and is able to cross OS platforms without a glitch or problem of any kind. I would definitely recommend this product especially for a newer Apple (Mac) computer as none of them come with a disc drive and most don't even have an ethernet port. I was initially going to purchase the Apple version of this but after reading the reviews and how low it was rated, sprung for this and have not regretted it. Just plug it in to the MacBook Air, attach the ethernet cable which is then connected to the router and within seconds you are connected. Great product and fast shipping. ## Frequently Bought Together - TRENDnet USB 3.0 to Gigabit Ethernet Adapter, Full Duplex 2Gbps Ethernet Speeds, Up to 1Gbps, USB to Gigabit Ethernet Adapter, USB-A, Windows Compatible, USB Powered, Black, TU3-ETG - TP-Link USB to Ethernet Adapter (UE306), Supports Nintendo Switch, Foldable USB 3.0 to Gigabit Ethernet LAN Network Adapter, Supports Windows, Linux, Apple MacBook OS 10.11 - 12(Driver Required) - TP-Link USB to Ethernet Adapter, Foldable USB 3.0 to 10/100/1000 Gigabit Ethernet LAN Network Adapter, Support Windows 10/8.1/8/7/Vista/XP for Desktop Laptop Apple MacBook Linux (UE300) --- ## Why Shop on Desertcart? - 🛒 **Trusted by 1.3+ Million Shoppers** — Serving international shoppers since 2016 - 🌍 **Shop Globally** — Access 737+ million products across 21 categories - 💰 **No Hidden Fees** — All customs, duties, and taxes included in the price - 🔄 **15-Day Free Returns** — Hassle-free returns (30 days for PRO members) - 🔒 **Secure Payments** — Trusted payment options with buyer protection - ⭐ **TrustPilot Rated 4.5/5** — Based on 8,000+ happy customer reviews **Shop now:** [https://www.desertcart.co.ke/products/2645361-tu3-etg](https://www.desertcart.co.ke/products/2645361-tu3-etg) --- *Product available on Desertcart Kenya* *Store origin: KE* *Last updated: 2026-10-06*
