**Q: How can I attach this to a belt? Awkward at a party?**
A: The best way to attach this to a belt is how they did it on the tv show.  Get a roll of heavy duty velcro, and attach one piece to the belt, and the other to the back of the  communicator.  Works very well for me.

**Q: How many sounds/phrases does it have?**
A: Our Star Trek Original Series communicator phrases:Kirk: "Enterprise to Mr. Spock."Uhura: "Bridge here, Captain."Scotty: "Scotty here, Captain."Spock: "Spock here, Captain."Kirk: "Bridge, this is the captain."Kirk: "Transporter room- ready to beam up."Special phrase when you let someone call you:Spock: "Captain- Shall I beam down an armed party?"Sounds: A sound when you flip it open, and a different one when you're being called

**Q: plastic grill**
A: yes, the grill is plastic, as is the entire communicator.  But it is by no means flimsy.  the grill flips open and turns on the communicator, which has a 'swirly' center center.  It's buttons light up.  One button, when pressed, has prerecorded messages.  the center button, when held down for 5 seconds, and when you close the communicator, results in you getting a call from Spock.  While entirely plastic, I am completely pleased with its functionality and durability.

**Q: what kind of batteries does it take and are they easy to change?**
A: It takes 3 -AAA batteries and it should be easy to change . Don't really know cuz Italy an unopened box
