**Q: Rail size**
A: It’s 20mm, but can squeeze on something like 21 or 22mm, hope this helped

**Q: How far does the red dot show**
A: It doesn't show distance, just a dot in centre of scope to aquire targets. Scope has no magnification. Just a simple red dot

**Q: Does anyone know of a sight protector that goes right over it while on its mount?**
A: A sight protector on a different mount of the same height :)

**Q: Is it suitable for 12ga shotgun?..**
A: Not entirely sure as I believe its rated to either 7.62 or 5.56, not sure how it would handle the recoil and still hold zero
