The cd that moves this guy up the ladder from just black metal to art! Recommend for Arckanum fans....if u like newer or older this is just perfect!!!!!!

Arckanum has made it a purpose to release solid albums of pure Swedish black metal. This album is no exception - it more or less adheres faithfully to the black metal formula while throwing in some groove, palm muting, and solos to keep it sounding fresh. It is a heavy and dark CD.The best reason to buy the album is to have the song Røkulfargnýr in your collection. Wow, it is hard not to max out the volume - great song! And a few other songs are also very energetic like Sú Vitran.I have a couple complaints with the album. I think with 8 songs, there is a little too much atmospheric filler. It sounds like Shamaatae is casting some spells and offering some paens, but these parts seem like they can only hold more relevance for the artist than the listener. My other complaint is a trifle - the CD case is very tall as pictured, and I prefer a standard size case so I can keep them all together.If you want solid black metal, Arckanum serves red meat here.

Arckanum one of the founding fathers of Anti-Cosmic Black Metal along with Dissection and others their music production is really kind of foggy which I like cause I don't like loud guitars in songs, The dudes vocals are basically the same through every album they've done in the past nothing really different with the vocals, The drums are kind of bland sounding nothing great but who cares this is Black Metal its not supposed to be about the F'N drums anyway.all n all great album if u like Black Metal or a Fan of this band u will like this album I promise u that
