Legend series is going to be one of my favorite series for being crisp, easy and intriguing. The first book while focused on more personalized struggles of both the characters and the scenario of the world that they lived in, the second book is more focused on the relationship that develops between Day and June , the central characters. The book picks up from where the first book left and the transition is smooth and slow. The second part also gives a brief explanation about the dystopian world which was lacking in the first book. What I like about the book is that the effort is there to differentiate between the narrations of both the characters as the book follows the pattern of multiple POV narration. The characters still stay intact to their true nature as developed in the first book and unlike many other book, does not go for a nose dive as soon as it hits a sequel or a relationship is generated. Starting of the book is more focused on how both the characters deal with the consequences of the events that emerged in the first book and at the meanwhile tackling with the development of a relationship between them. The book starts off a bit slow and by the middle it just keeps getting better and better and ends up with an exciting climax and as expected the ending even though not exactly a cliff hanger still makes you want to go for the next book in this series. Na verdade, são vários tapas na cara. Acho que a Marie Lu resolveu escrever a distopia perfeita. E está conseguindo! Primeiro, porque a distopia dela faz muito mais sentido do que todas as outras que eu já vi. Não consigo realmente procurar tanto realismo assim em distopia. Quer dizer, nunca cheguei mesmo a acreditar que uma sociedade como em Jogos Vorazes pudesse acontecer. Mas isso nunca estragou nenhuma história para mim (só A Seleção, mas nem tanto). Foi só quando cheguei a Legend (mais especificamente a Prodigy, já que foi nesse livro que a distopia foi explicada) que entendi que dá, sim, para escrever um livro distópico completamente possível! E provável, aliás. Essa foi minha parte favorita desse livro, as explicações do que levou à sociedade atual, a criação da República, a separação dos EUA. Além, é claro, do outro lado, das Colônias. Sério, foi tudo tão bem pensado e lógico, que não sei como ninguém tinha escrito uma distopia assim antes! (Como se todo mundo fosse gênio como Marie Lu, né?) Os personagens continuam extremamente humanos, lógicos, profundos, com suas fraquezas e uma interação entre si que faz tanto sentido, que dá para sentir que eles existem de verdade! Não existe um único diálogo que não é natural ou que é forçado. Nem um pensamento na narrativa assim. Foi incrível ver o Day crescendo e se entendendo como celebridade até, como modelo para o povo. Mais ainda foi ver a June questionando a revolução. E, meu deus, que questão mais importante que a Marie Lu colocou! E eu aqui achando que esse livro ia ser uma grande guerra e revolução, uma bagunça anarquista. Mas ela ainda conseguiu se provar ainda mais inteligente do que no primeiro livro! Preciso ressaltar aqui a relação entre Day e June. Acho que os dois são os personagens que fazem mais sentido como casal que eu já vi. Como acontece na vida real, não tem só uma pessoa interessada neles, não é como se o mundo se resumisse a eles. Isso é necessário, tanto que fica mega natural, não só mais um triângulo ou quadrado amoroso. É vida real mesmo. Mas em nenhum momento existe alguma dúvida de que os dois não estão interessados em mais ninguém além um do outro. Mas é claro, um desafia o outro, melhora o outro, instiga o outro. Eles reconhecem um no outro algo que tem neles mesmo, ao mesmo tempo que vêem como podem melhorar. Isso é absolutamente tudo que você pode pedir em outra pessoa. Impossível não ter romance. Mas a melhor parte para mim é que o romance é um detalhe. É parte deles, mas vai mais além do que isso. Eles confiam na opinião um do outro, e eu acho que é principalmente porque eles se identificam um com o outro. Eles entendem a força do outro, como o outro teoricamente não depende deles, mas como são melhores juntos, se completam. Que. Casal. Mais. Incrível. Meu deus, Marie Lu. Meu deus. Mas, como a Marie Lu é mesmo maravilhosa e não faz só média, é claro que ainda reservou tapas na cara para o final do livro. O enredo em si já é ótimo, bem desenvolvido, lógico, mas também surpreendente. E definitivamente inteligente. Ela trabalhou a política da história melhor do que qualquer outra distopia, e com bem mais maturidade também. Mas ela sabe ser trágica. E ela (infeliz e felizmente) não foge de um problema, só vai na direção deles. Então, sim, eu já acabei esse livro chorando litros e com medo, porque eu tenho a forte impressão de que ela vai fazer um final sofrido. É a cara dela, definitivamente é a cara dessa história. Estou quase me proibindo de ler Champion, só para não ter que encarar o que me espera no último livro.
