Single-Ply yarn is 50 weight, and our cotton thread is 3-Ply twisted bonded ( the actual weight is 30WT = Tex 33 for three plies) can be widely used for quilting, serger, piecing, machine sewing, hand sewing, heavy machine embroidery and light hand embroidery etc. - β˜… Ideal Choice For Natural Fabrics: Our mercerized cotton thread is especially suitable for natural fabric like cotton and linen fabrics. Since it has almost same washing shrinkage rate as natural fabric, it can avoid causing pucker after washing because of the different shrinkage between fabrics and threads. - β˜… Spool with Locking Base Resists Thread Tangling: Our new generation snapping spool has a locking base, which is designed for keeping your thread tails from unwinding. If your regular sewing machines haven’t horizontal spool feed and you want to use our good snapping spool, you need an upright thread stand to help leading thread from snapping spools to your machines. - β˜…β˜…β˜… Tips for better using New brothread mercerized cotton thread: 1), our mercerized cotton thread is thicker than normal 40WT sewing or embroidery thread, we recommend use needles with large eye (β‰₯80/12) to prevent stripping. 2), the cotton threads do not stretch a great deal like polyester or nylon threads, please slow down the stitching speed when you have breaking problem. ## Technical Specifications | Specification | Value | |---------------|-------| | ASIN | B0869DWNHM | | Best Sellers Rank | #1,003 in Arts, Crafts & Sewing ( See Top 100 in Arts, Crafts & Sewing ) #2 in Quilting Thread | | Brand Name | New brothread | | Color | 5 White+5 Black Colors | | Compatible Crochet Hook US Size | I-9 | | Compatible Knitting Needle Metric Size | 4.5 millimeters | | Compatible Knitting Needle US Size | 15 | | Customer Reviews | 4.7 4.7 out of 5 stars (6,057) | | Item Highlight | Thread Weight 50S/3, 600M(660Y) Each Spool, Used for Quilting, Serger, Sewing and Embroidery | | Item Length | 600 meters | | Item Weight | 0.31 kg | | Manufacturer | New brothreads | | Manufacturer Part Number | NB-MCT-5+5C | | Material Composition | Cotton 100 | | Material Type | Cotton | | Model Number | NB-MCT-5+5C | | Number of Packs | 1 | | Product Care Instructions | Machine Wash | | UPC | 729920673186 | ## Product Details - **Brand:** New brothread - **Color:** 5 White+5 Black Colors - **Compatible Knitting Needle Metric Size:** 4.5 millimeters - **Compatible Knitting Needle US Size:** 15 - **Item Length:** 600 meters - **Item Weight:** 0.31 kg - **Material:** Cotton - **Material Composition:** Cotton 100 - **Product Care Instructions:** Machine Wash - **UPC:** 729920673186 ## Images ![New brothread Multi-Purpose 100% Mercerized Cotton Threads -5 White+5 Black - Image 1](https://m.media-amazon.com/images/I/71yo3uNAqWL.jpg) ## Available Options This product comes in different **Color** options. ## Frequently Bought Together - New brothread - 18 Options - Multi-Purpose 100% Mercerized Cotton Threads 50S/3 600M(660Y) Each Spool for Quilting, Serger, Sewing and Embroidery - 5 White+5 Black Colors - Sewing Machine Needles, 50 PCS Universal Sewing Machine Needle, Compatible with Singer, Brother, Janome, Varmax, Sizes HAX1 65/9, 75/11, 90/14, 100/16, 110/18 (50 PCS) - 600PCS Sewing Pins Straight Pin for Fabric, Pearlized Ball Head Quilting Pins Long 1.5inch, Multicolor Corsage Stick Pins for Dressmaker, Jewelry DIY Decoration, Craft and Sewing Project --- ## Why Shop on Desertcart? - πŸ›’ **Trusted by 1.3+ Million Shoppers** β€” Serving international shoppers since 2016 - 🌍 **Shop Globally** β€” Access 737+ million products across 21 categories - πŸ’° **No Hidden Fees** β€” All customs, duties, and taxes included in the price - πŸ”„ **15-Day Free Returns** β€” Hassle-free returns (30 days for PRO members) - πŸ”’ **Secure Payments** β€” Trusted payment options with buyer protection - ⭐ **TrustPilot Rated 4.5/5** β€” Based on 8,000+ happy customer reviews **Shop now:** [https://www.desertcart.co.ke/products/209332973-new-brothread-multi-purpose-100-mercerized-cotton-threads-5-white](https://www.desertcart.co.ke/products/209332973-new-brothread-multi-purpose-100-mercerized-cotton-threads-5-white) --- *Product available on Desertcart Kenya* *Store origin: KE* *Last updated: 2026-10-11*
