Compatible with all clear coats and paint finishes, this versatile compound saves time with its efficient single-step process, making it ideal for both professional detailers and discerning car enthusiasts. ## Description SONAX CutMax is a heavy cutting compound and rubbing compound for cars built for aggressive automotive paint correction when ordinary polishing is not enough. Rated Cut 6/6 and Gloss 4/6, it removes P1200 marks, paint defects, scratches, dust inclusions and severely scratched or oxidized paintwork. It can also remove sanding marks up to 1000 grit on fresh paint. The water-based formula has a long working cycle and is designed to resist drying out during compounding. It contains no solvents, silicones or petroleum, creates very little dust, and helps polishing pads stay cleaner through the correction process. Use this cutting compound for cars with a rotary or dual-action polisher and choose a foam or wool pad according to the cut required. As a buffing compound for cars and automotive buffing compound for heavy correction, CutMax is bodyshop safe, silicone free and formulated without fillers, so correction comes from abrasive work rather than concealed defects. The product information also describes easy wipe-off, including in high-humidity conditions. After the heavy-cut stage, follow with an appropriate finishing polish when a higher-gloss final result is required. Bottle size: 33.8 fl oz / 1000 ml. Use CutMax as a car rubbing compound, heavy cut compound, automotive buffing compound, paint correction compound, rubbing compound for car paint, car buffing compound or heavy cutting compound for demanding correction. ## Features - HEAVY-CUT PAINT CORRECTION: SONAX CutMax is a high-abrasion cutting compound for cars that removes P1200 sanding marks, paint defects, scratches, dust inclusions and severe oxidation. - STRONG CUT WITH A REFINED FINISH: Rated Cut 6/6 and Gloss 4/6, the compound corrects heavily weathered or sanded paint while leaving a finish ready for the polishing stage. - WATER-BASED, SILICONE-FREE FORMULA: The long-working compound contains no solvents, silicones or petroleum, resists drying out and keeps dust low so pads stay cleaner during correction work. - ROTARY OR DUAL-ACTION APPLICATION: Use this automotive polishing compound with a foam or wool pad, selecting the pad according to the level of cut needed for the correction task. - BODYSHOP-SAFE, NO FILLERS: Designed for professional correction workflows, this 33.8 fl oz heavy cut compound is bodyshop safe, easy to wipe off and formulated without fillers that mask defects. ## Technical Specifications | Specification | Value | |---------------|-------| | ASIN | B00TS7YN4K | | Best Sellers Rank | #17,995 in Automotive ( See Top 100 in Automotive ) #56 in Polishing & Rubbing Compounds | | Brand | SONAX | | Brand Name | SONAX | | Compatible Material | Microfiber, Wool | | Customer Reviews | 4.6 out of 5 stars 1,866 Reviews | | Global Trade Identification Number | 00854119004745 | | Grit Number | 1500 | | Grit Type | Fine | | Item Dimensions | 3.15 x 3.15 x 11.02 inches | | Item Highlight | Heavy-cut cutting compound removes P1200 sanding marks, scratches and oxidation with low dust and a long working time. | | Item Weight | 1 kg | | Item dimensions L x W x H | 3.15 x 3.15 x 11.02 inches | | Manufacturer | SONAX | | Material | Wool | | Material Type | Wool | | Model | 246300 | | Number of Packs | 1 | | Part Number | 246300 | | UPC | 854119004745 741533206636 | | Unit Count | 33.8 Fluid Ounces | ## Product Details - **Brand:** SONAX - **Grit Type:** Fine - **Item Weight:** 1 kg - **Item dimensions L x W x H:** 3.15 x 3.15 x 11.02 inches - **Material:** Wool ## Images ![CutMax - Image 1](https://m.media-amazon.com/images/I/61kerHCplzL.jpg) ![CutMax - Image 2](https://m.media-amazon.com/images/I/81hanCTZ5SL.jpg) ![CutMax - Image 3](https://m.media-amazon.com/images/I/91WU3Q79WRL.jpg) ![CutMax - Image 4](https://m.media-amazon.com/images/I/81l-EpnqaNL.jpg) ![CutMax - Image 5](https://m.media-amazon.com/images/I/710CEdAnSrL.jpg) ## Available Options This product comes in different **Size** options. ## Questions & Answers **Q: Can this be used to remove imperfections in glass** A: It’s not going to scratches out unless they’re very small and buff for a long time. Taking scratches off of glass is not easy. To remove a scratch you have to remove all of the surrounding material so that it’s even with the deepest part of the scratch which is hard to do on glass. If you’re talking about water spots or something, sure, it’ll work great **Q: Is there a significant difference between this stuff and sonax perfect finish? Im looking for a good quality 1 step.** A: There is, and Perfect Finish is an ideal 1 step polish when your paint is in good shape. Minimal cut with a high gloss finish. Cutmax is more suited for paint correction with a deeper cut, and less gloss. Cutmax followed by Perfect Finish is a good 2 step process to correct flaws in the paint. **Q: Is Sonax cutmax 250ml enough for one small car?** A: Yes you should be able to complete a small car. How much you use depends on the condition of the paint you are correcting. Also some areas you may want to go over twice. **Q: Is this Cutmax good for stubborn hard clear coat? If so, what kind of pad would you recommend?** A: I have used on stubborn clear with a lake country orange pad and it turned out well. Follow up with black pad and Sonax perfect finish. ## Frequently Bought Together - SONAX (246300 Profiline CutMax - 33.8 fl. oz. - Sonax (224300 Profiline Perfect Finish - 33.8 fl. oz. - SONAX Cut & Finish 225300 | High Performing Polish/Compound | Rated 5 Cut & 5 Gloss | Removes Paint Defects, P1500 Sanding Marks & Water Spots | Long Work Time & Easy Wipe-Off | Silicone-Free | 1000ml --- ## Why Shop on Desertcart? - 🛒 **Trusted by 1.3+ Million Shoppers** — Serving international shoppers since 2016 - 🌍 **Shop Globally** — Access 737+ million products across 21 categories - 💰 **No Hidden Fees** — All customs, duties, and taxes included in the price - 🔄 **15-Day Free Returns** — Hassle-free returns (30 days for PRO members) - 🔒 **Secure Payments** — Trusted payment options with buyer protection - ⭐ **TrustPilot Rated 4.5/5** — Based on 8,000+ happy customer reviews **Shop now:** [https://www.desertcart.co.ke/products/17341561-cutmax](https://www.desertcart.co.ke/products/17341561-cutmax) --- *Product available on Desertcart Kenya* *Store origin: KE* *Last updated: 2026-10-04*
