A: Hello there, please put the egg cracker on the softed boiled egg, pull up its round handle  and tap it, then the egg cracker works.

**Q: Received the ceramic holder, but package was missing the topper shell separator.   Does it come in separate box? Who should I contact?**
A: They should have come together.  You should contact the seller and if you don’t get resolution then contact Amazon and explain to them that you didn’t receive the complete product.

**Q: The egg cracker looks different than any I've seen.  Does it twist around the egg?  Does it work better than the pull/drop type?**
A: It is actually a pull/drop. You put it on top of the egg as shown on the picture and pull and drop the knob on the top. I love my cups! Really great design !

These are nice, sturdy, and I like that there's a place to put egg shells while eating my soft boiled eggs and that the egg stays upright. But i eat 2-3 eggs at a time so I better be seated near a garbage can to dump the shells as I go. This dish is designed to accomodate one egg worth of shells at a time only.
