Review: Good strings - EB Slinky's are good strings at a great price. These aren't the best stings in the world, but Slinky's have been at least the standard "go to" brand for ages. The sting quality, sound consistency and lifespan are all good. Even though these aren't my primary brand, I still use these strings on a consistent basis for several of my guitars.

**Q: Is the 3rd string wound?**
A: Hello, the third string in this set is plain. Thanks for your interest! Y2PLAY Stores 1-800-695-4808

**Q: Will these be good for a half-step o one-step down tunning from the standard eadgbe?**
A: Been playing a 1987 fender stratocaster drop D full step with .008 - .038 strings for AGES without a problem. The heavier strings have more punch drop D or not but the lighter gauge strings don't buzz for me and I have a very low action guitar. If you want a really "bendy" guitar give it a try.  That's what Jimmy Page played mostly and he did ok.  If you play Alice in Chains like I do then drop D is important. Most of my drop D is a bit distorted and loud so through the pickups and amps plus effects there is zero string buzz. Give it a shot!

**Q: String diameters are labeled incorrectly in the color/model selection?  Pink should be 9-42. Purple should be 11-48.**
A: Yes. I believe you are correct. 
But I ordered these strings, and I got the .011 gauge, like I wanted.

EB Slinky's are good strings at a great price. These aren't the best stings in the world, but Slinky's have been at least the standard "go to" brand for ages. The sting quality, sound consistency and lifespan are all good. Even though these aren't my primary brand, I still use these strings on a consistent basis for several of my guitars.

Used by countless pros all over the world! One of the best values out there for a reputable string used all over the world. They sound great. Strings always have great tone, bright clarity and solid midrange and works great on just about every style of guitar. They feel great. Bending strings is comfortable, not noisy and last a long time. They are consistently great. You can buy these from anywhere around the globe and are very consistent and feel the same year after year. There are some that claim a mountain of new improvements (even Ernie Ball) but at the end of the day, these are some of the best! Had a friend of mine speaking of a new version out there that lasts twice as long only to find out those cost over twice as much; Just buy two packs of these for less and call it day!! I've tried a lot of strings including most of the new options out there but these are an awesome value, work well, consistent, can find these all over the world, and used by many a well-known guitarist. also, 9's are a great option for tone even better than 10's in my opinion which I played for decades. Check out some videos online discussing that fact and it might change your mind to 9's. It did mine. Cheers.
