Review: Works Well on Nutsedge, Just Give It Some Time - I used SedgeHammer Plus on several patches of nutsedge in my lawn, and I’m happy with the results. It does not kill the weeds overnight, so you do need to be a little patient. After about two weeks, the nutsedge had clearly started turning yellow and brown while the surrounding grass still looked fine. I also like that the surfactant is already included, which makes it easy to mix and use. One packet per gallon is straightforward and convenient. After about 15 days, the treated nutsedge is noticeably dying back, so I can tell the product is working as intended. So far, I’m very satisfied with it and would use it again if more nutsedge comes back.

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Persistence is key!

Nutsedge is the bane of my existence in a flower bed in the backyard. I don't know what it is about that flower bed. My front beds have little to no nutsedge, but I've had issues with Nutsedge in the back since the bed was created about 5 years ago. At first I tried to handle it by pulling it up. Only to see another one popping out of the ground. Pull that one..and yet another is born. It's like an alien race of intelligent beings came to the Earth in the form of blades of grass to measure human frustration levels. It's all science! It's just alien science. That's my story and I'm sticking to it. In any event, I tried a few different products, and nothing really worked. Last year I tried sedgehammer. Didn't see much change. Well, let me hit it again. Hmmm. Slowly seeing some yellowing. I hit it a 3rd time. Ok...now I'm seeing a real difference. 4th time? Some is now close to dying. The rest is wilted, yellowing and it's having trouble spreading further. This is a cycle that's playing out again this spring. This is now my 3rd or 4th purchase. Each time I hit it hard for a few weeks until it kills all/most of it. It's a never-ending battle but I'm at least winning individual wars and I'm noticing that the infestation is maybe half as bad as last year. If I can halve it again next spring, I'll really start to have this nasty weed under control. The key is two-fold. Hit it over and over again. I'm spraying it at least twice per week for roughly 4-6 weeks to get it killed. This is not a once-and-done product. Second - I know it's hard, but avoid pulling the nutsedge out by hand while you are using this product. It's like the fire ant killing products. You give it to the worker ants, who take the bait and feed it to the queen, which kills the mound. Same idea here. You want to let those nasty weeds carry the poison down to the nut and over time hopefully kill the underground nut. The nut is what puts out spreaders. If you pull the grass, you're not removing or killing the nut. All if does is encourage the nut to push up additional branches of the weed and create new nuts...and it becomes a never-ending game of whack-a-mole. Spray over and over and over - as much and as long as it takes until the weed tops are dead or near-dead. Then go ahead and pull them. But if you just pull this weed, you'll never get it under control. Good luck!
