Not sure which colour to get. I love the blacked-out look, but I'm worried it might not hold up over time?** A: Yes it does scratch off. Doesn't last long really, maybe a month in the pocket before it looks tatty. Its a good tool though, although the pliers at are only for very very light work. I broke mine. **Q: Will the snips cut thin sheet metal?** A: I would not think so, and would soon be blunted if they did. This is a very modest little guy that offers alot of "get you by" tools for minor tinkering tasks. The Dime mini seems to be better built than the disappointing Gerber Splice as all the tool depltment operate smoothly and are not gritty or crunchy. My Dime did not have the greatest edge on the blade as it arrived pretty dull but 10 mins on the sharpening stones soon had it razor sharp.
