The system is constructed based on categories, and then it gets more specific from there. Here are the categories: Monthly, Tax,Permanent, Remove/Replace, Archive, Active, and Resource. Each of these categories is a different color. Within each category, there are additional file labels so you can personalize the system according to your current needs. The FreedomFiler filing kits are printed, assembled and packaged in the USA. **Q: Do you have to use a hanging file system? Can it just be files in a drawer, not hanging?** A: No...and some people who adhere to the Getting Things Done system follow the advice of NOT using hanging folders on purpose. If you want to stick with regular folders, consider whether or not you are getting the third cut or the fifth cut system, but it may not be as tidy looking as it could with Hanging folder tabs that can be arranged for the clearest viewing of the contents. I'd consider dedicating all the folders of one type (say, all the ones with tabs to the left, right or center) to be major category tabs and use only the others for content tags. But FF is all about making filing EASY. And it is SO much easier to file into gliding, hanging folders than in regular folders that fall over if not snugged up so that they are annoying to file into, imo. **Q: Should I get the 1/5, or 1/3 size?** A: I think 1/5 is good. This is a system that seems to work best when you don't have any folders in the hanging files.
