My daughters shih tzu and shorkie, a shih tzu mix completely ignore and keep doing what they're doing. The young one even tries to bite it like it's a toy. This has worked on mine and friends dogs. Recommend product but I would never recommend a shih tzu dog. They are hard to train and don't potty train well or even listen. You tell the full blooded 1 and she just looks at you and doesn't move.
